Valentine's Day Heart Health Nonfiction Text and STEM Activities

This resource is a non-fiction science text about heart health. There are a variety of activities that are perfect for Valentine's Day week.
The text is an independent read for upper elementary grades but would make a great read-aloud for the kindergarten and first grade. There is a YouTube video suggested. It is paired with a science activity and an experiment. There are follow-up graphic organizers on several different levels for independent work after the reading. There are directions and recording sheets for the experiment and activities.
The STEAM activity challenges the students to make a heart-shaped tower with given materials.
