Firstly, there are eight close reading activities, or informational texts, about:

• An Overview of Ancient Rome
• Augustus
• Julius Caesar
• Mark Antony
• Constantine
• Spartacus

These activities require NO PREP and have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.

Secondly, there are two biography writing units about Julius Caesar and Augustus. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Then, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of Ancient Rome. There are 25 posters or cards that include many of the key events and periods from the founding of Rome to the end of the empire. The posters look great as a display in the classroom and the cards are a brilliant introduction to Ancient Rome. The displays and cards come both with dates and without dates, so the students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline. The cards look even better when laminated.

Then, there is an informational text writing unit about Ancient Rome. The unit focuses on key facts about the history of the ancient civilization that dated from the founding of the city of Rome in the 8th Century BC, until its downfall in the 5th Century AD. The unit has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Finally, there is a discussion based writing unit discussing who was the greatest leader from Ancient Rome. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Firstly, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events from Ancient Rome. There are 25 posters or cards that include many of the key events from the time period.

Secondly, there is a close reading activity - children need to read through an informational text, and then answer comprehension and grammar questions, before completing an extension activity.

Finally, there is an informational text writing unit. The unit has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Ideal for students learning about Ancient Rome.

These Egyptian Art Projects include 3 projects, 3 drawing guides, templates & tons of bonus material to bring ancient Egypt alive in your classroom.  The cross-curricular lesson was inspired by the 100 year anniversary of the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb in November 1922.

This project is highly engaging, full of history & culture, and includes templates & drawing guides for each of the 3 projects plus a guide to use the pyramid project with kindergarten & 1st grade students.
