2021 Elementary Career Lesson Plans and Activities

By Mrs Bell The Crafty Counselor

Do you have students interested in careers? Are you looking for elementary school-aged career lesson plans for your classroom or counseling program?

Do you want to introduce careers to your students but aren't sure how?

Look no further! I've got you covered.

***********This resource is for the years 2015-2020***********

Check out Kid's Career Choices 2022 for the most recent Top 12 Careers of the Year poster updates. Posters past the year 2020 are NOT INCLUDED in this download.

From a young age, we tell kids they can be anything they want to be; that doesn’t do any good if we don’t help them discover what it is they want to be. It is very encouraging but doesn't help them discover what they truly want to do with their lives. If kids aren’t exposed to various careers and informed of the educational requirements, they are less likely to make a career choice that suits their unique skill set. In this ever-changing and competitive world, students must plan well and work hard in order for their future dreams to come true. Planning starts with narrowing down options, which is what the KID'S CAREER CHOICES PACKET is designed to do!!!!!!

Using the included resources, you can explain to your elementary school students the job descriptions, educational requirements, and qualities needed to excel in 42 popular and realistic careers while challenging students to think about which type of career may be the right fit for them. Use these career lesson plans and activities over and over!

Check out Kid's Career Choices 2022 for the most recent Top 12 Careers of the Year poster updates. Posters past the year 2020 are NOT INCLUDED in this download. Posters past the year 2020 are NOT INCLUDED in this download.

Included in this Packet:

✔10 Essential Skills of a Successful Employee Poster

✔42 Career Posters (30 original, 12 include the Top 12 Careers of 2015 without number rankings)

✔42 Character Trait Cards (outlines the character traits and qualities necessary to succeed in each career)

✔Career Sorting Interactive Game (Sort careers into three piles: this is a good career for me, this may be a good career for me, this is not a good career for me)

✔Career Decision Worksheets (help students get their ideas of of their head and onto paper)

✔Occupational Outlook Handbook Worksheet (online search activity)

✔Top 12 Careers of 2015 - 2020 Posters (career of the month activity)

*This will be the last update for the Top 12 Careers posters. Yearly updates will be sold separately and/or as a bundle.

Check out the latest Kid's Career Packet updated for years after 2020 (not included in this download; a separate charge will apply) Posters past the year 2020 are NOT INCLUDED in this download.

SO MUCH FOR ONE LOW PRICE!!!!!

In this crazy world of endless options, thinking of the future can be overwhelming for a child. By playing the game, along with utilizing the posters and worksheet, from a young age, we can get students thinking about what kinds of careers are available, what kinds of careers they may enjoy, and make them aware of the potential educational challenges of qualifying for the career. After these lessons, students can start to develop a clearer picture of what they want to be when they grow up and what steps are required to fulfill those dreams.

360 Discreet Behavior Management Cards for Classroom or Counseling Lessons

By Mrs Bell The Crafty Counselor

Remind students of classroom expectations in a way that doesn't embarrass or publicly call out students with these discreet behavior management cards that are the perfect addition to any classroom behavior management plan. This bundle includes 360 themed behavior cards designed to encourage positive behaviors while shutting down negative behaviors in your classroom or small group activity.

This bundle includes motivator cards you can use to acknowledge students who are doing what is expected of them. The motivational cards are a bit of extra encouragement that helps foster a positive and optimistic mindset in students. The impact a compliment can have is amazing.

The modifier cards are to be used when students are off task or misbehaving. You can drop the appropriate card off at their desk (upside down so as to not embarrass the student) as an easy way to let students know they need to modify their behavior. This strategy gives students the chance to self-reflect on their behaviors without drawing too much attention to the situation or disrupting class time.

This Bundle Includes:

  • Ten Packs of Behavior Cards (36 Cards per Pack)
  • 18 Modifier Cards to Redirect Behavior (per pack)
  • 18 Motivator Cards to Encourage (per pack)
  • 9 Blank Cards (per pack)
  • 360 Behavior Cards Total

This bundle is broken into 10 packs of cards with various themes for the months of August-May (June and July are not included as students are typically not in school during this time frame). The pack for August is generic and can be used year-round.

Keep your classroom management plan fresh and your kids engaged by switching out the behavior cards monthly. The cards have a different theme for each of the months. Statements on the cards are occasionally repeated in separate months.

Simply, print, laminate, cut apart and you are ready for classroom or guidance lesson use!

Teachers, Counselors, Social Workers, & School Psychs Like You Said:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kimberly K. says, “I used these at the end of the 2016-17 school year (in 3rd grade) as a way to ramp-up behaviors and try something different at the end of the year and it worked wonders!!  The students couldn't tell if their neighbor was getting a "good" card or a "re-direct."  Worked like a charm!!  Tip: I laminated the cards and sorted into two piles and put one pile in a pocket, so it was easy for me to hand out.  At the end of the day, students put their cards back in a basket on my desk so I could re-use them the next day.  I can't wait to use them again this year!”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Catherine P. says, “Great way to give students behavior feedback.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Deborah S. says, “These cards are exactly what I needed! I love that there are a variety of cards for each month to help keep the cards interesting for students who can be prone to lose interest quickly. I separated the cards into two stacks and clipped them with different color binder clips to quickly identify the redirection cards and the motivational cards. Thank you for creating this superb product!”

My Pre-Writing Program - Fine Motor Activities - Homework, Kindegarten, Preschoo

By All Therapy Resources

Pre-writing skills are skills that children need to achieve before they can learn to write letters. Firstly, children must understand how to draw the basic shapes (i.e. circle, diagonal, straight line etc) as these help form the basis of letters. This program explores this further and provides specific examples to support teachers, parents and other adults to implement this program for their child or student.

This program outlines two weeks worth of homework ideas for students/children to work on to develop their pre-writing skills as well as making learning fun!
