Editable Bright Nameplates | Cursive | Multiplication | Place Value | Decor

By Kristen Teaches Fourth

Are you in need of cute and functional nameplates/nametags for your students? Look no further! This resource is perfect for you! These nametags measure approximately 4.27 inches high and 10.91 inches width wise (numbers will vary based on how you cut them out). These are a bit bigger so they won't fit in the holders from target but they are easy to laminate. Once you edit - print on your preferred paper (cardstock is my preference - I like Astrobrights), laminate and cut! Easy to cute - just cut across in the middle!

Students will be able to use these right away to help with their multiplication facts, place value and gives them an idea of what the cursive letters look like! I am using them in my fourth grade class and the students are already raving about how helpful they are - no more straining to see the posters!

I attach mine with velcro so that students can easily take them with them if they work in a different area of the room.

You will need a font KA Jackfruit for it to look just like mine. I included the link to purchase the font in the file. Zip files open to an editable powerpoint!

Review are appreciated and helpful for me! Please reach out with any questions or concerns!

Apostrophes in Contractions | Grammar Task Cards | Perfect Contractions!

By TaughtOught Homeschooling

Students struggle with learning contractions in English grammar because there is so much to remember: What are contraction words? Where does the apostrophe go? What is an apostrophe? What words come together to make contractions? What is the rule for using contractions?

This resource is a one-stop shop for a fully-comprehensive study of contraction grammar activities. Students will learn the rule of contractions in an easy flow format. These self-guiding task cards are broken down into small steps so students can learn independently and grow confident grammar skills.

NOTE REGARDING DIGITAL TASK CARDS: For use with Google Forms™

Students use these task cards to first clearly identify apostrophes and then contractions. Then, students will learn the rule for turning the words will, is, not, am, are, have, and would into contractions (including exactly where that apostrophe lives!) Once students understand that only the second word of a contraction changes, they are ready to build and break down contractions. After several activities to drill in this concept, students have the opportunity to review what they’ve learned.

This resource includes:

   ✏ 12 instructional cards

   ✏ 56 color-coded printable task cards

✏ 66 digital task cards (with built-in reward system and completion certificate)

✏ task cards include contraction review activities

   ✏ fully comprehensive lessons

✏ broken down tasks for self-guided independent learning

✏ No prep! Simply log into Google Forms_™_ OR print and distribute (laminate for long-term use).

Writing or Grammar Editing Marks

By Fortunate in Fifth Grade

Do you print out your student's writing and have them peer edit? Do you have students' correct sentences when teaching grammar? Then these are perfect for you. These are quick, easy editing marks students can use to correct writing or assist with grammar lessons. I print them out, number the back of them and laminate them.

I hand them out at the beginning of the year to keep in their writing binder. When we do Daily Language they use a red pen to edit the sentences and then rewrite the sentences correctly. When we peer edit I print their writing and they meet with a partner and peer edit each other's work using these correction marks.

This resource includes

  • 6 different colors, 2 to a page editing mark cheat sheets
  • an example of how to use the editing marks (this could also be a handout you can give to the students or post in the classroom).

If you would like to pair them with my Daily Language worksheets you can grab them HERE! These are great morning work activities that continue to build the student's understanding of grammar and editing of their work.

Fry Sight Word Checklist, Sight Words Flash Card (2nd 100)

By The Responsive Educator

Fry Sight Words Checklist, Sight Words Flash Card 2nd 100

For students advancing in sight word recognition, the Fry Sight Words Checklist 2nd 100 extends the foundational assessment and progress tracking initiated with the initial 100 Fry sight words.

Key Features Tailored with meticulous design akin to the first checklist, this version encompasses the next 100 Fry sight words, featuring the same layout of 9 columns per page. Each column offers spaces for date recording, staff signatures, tracking the number of correct words, and calculating the percentage correct. This consistent design facilitates comprehensive and enduring assessment across multiple trials.

Available in both full-color and black-and-white versions, this resource retains adaptability for various printing needs, ensuring flexibility within diverse classroom settings.

Focused Goal Setting Continuing to empower educators, the Fry Sight Words Checklist 2nd 100 facilitates precise IEP goal establishment, aligning learning objectives with the additional 100 Fry sight words.

Complementary Practice Tools Complementing the checklist are accompanying flashcards designed specifically for the second set of 100 Fry sight words. These flashcards provide essential reinforcement and practice support for a consistent and effective learning experience.

Why Learning the 2nd 100 Fry Sight Words Matters Extending the sight word repertoire beyond the initial 100 words, mastering these additional words significantly enhances reading capabilities and overall language proficiency. This resource serves as a crucial step in further improving reading fluency, building confidence, and nurturing continued reading development.

Advantages of Fry Words over Dolch Words The Fry Sight Words list is organized into 10 groups of 100 words each, covering the most frequently used words in writing. Starting with the initial 300 words in early education significantly boosts reading and comprehension skills. While Fry words aren't strictly tied to specific grades, they're usually introduced in sets of 100 words to support gradual sight word recognition. Here's a general guide for introducing these sets:

  • First 100 Fry Words: Typically introduced in kindergarten and first grade.
  • Second 100 Fry Words: Taught in first or second grade, reinforcing foundational words.
  • Third 100 Fry Words: Added in second or third grade, including more complex words.
  • Fourth 100 Fry Words: Introduced in third or fourth grade, advancing vocabulary.
  • Fifth 100 Fry Words: Presented in fourth or fifth grade, offering more challenging words.

The 6th to 10th sets of 100 Fry words are usually introduced later, depending on the student's mastered words.
