By E•Fish•ient Teaching

This is a fun game to add to your math centers or just have in your classroom. Place Value Golf lets students practice place value while playing a game. Students will roll dice to see if they can get a certain number in the hundreds, tens, or ones. This game is usually a two player game, but can be played by only one player. It follows the rules of golf. Each time you roll is a stroke, the lowest score wins! Such a fun way to review and practice place value. Learn Place Value with Skeleton Math

By Inspired By MlG

This engaging and visually appealing activity helps students develop a strong understanding of place value concepts. By counting the 100's, 10's, and 1's frames on the skeleton task cards, students can easily identify the value of each digit and write the corresponding number in the correct place on the worksheet.

Benefits for Students:

  • Visual Learning: The skeleton format provides a clear and engaging visual representation of place value, making it easier for students to grasp the concept.
  • Hands-on Learning: By actively counting the frames, students reinforce their understanding through a tactile experience.
  • Number Sense: This activity helps students develop a strong foundation in number sense, allowing them to recognize the value of each digit and understand the relationship between different place values.
  • Critical Thinking: Students must analyze the visual representation and apply their knowledge of place value to accurately write the number.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: By working through the task cards, students practice problem-solving skills as they determine the correct number based on the given visual clues.
  • Increased Confidence: As students successfully complete the activity, they gain confidence in their ability to understand and apply place value concepts.

This activity is perfect for individual practice, small group work, or math centers. It can be used to introduce place value concepts, reinforce learning, or as a fun and engaging assessment tool.
