Feeling Misunderstood Social Story and Role-Playing Scenarios

This product includes 1 social story that focuses on being misunderstood. Vocabulary that is reviewed and discussed in depth include misunderstood, communication, judge, feeling insecure, anxiety, depression, positive self-esteem, and negative self-esteem.
Students will learn about feeling misunderstood, how someone could feel misunderstood, what can cause someone to feel misunderstood, how someone feels when they have positive self-esteem, how someone feels when they have negative self-esteem, how to build self esteem, and if someone feels misunderstood how they would feel.
One social story that focuses on feeling misunderstood is included in this product. The social story includes comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. This product shares with students the importance of communicating how one feels when they feel misunderstood, listening to others, understanding others point of view or feelings, and discussing interests that are different amongst friends/family members.
At the end of the product, you will find 4 role-playing cards that relate with feeling misunderstood. Students can role-play each situation and talk about how they would feel if they were in the situation.

In this Coloring in Growth Mindset and affirmation pack you will find 18 fun and easy to print coloring in worksheets for students that are a fun and inexpensive way to keep them motivated. Each page has a short growth mindset phrase for your PreK, Kindergarten or First/Second Year students that help build their self-esteem, confidence and resilience. This pack has sea themed coloring in pictures that are absolutely adorable and your students will love. By providing children with positive affirmations, we can help them to develop a positive self-image, increase their self-worth, and instil in them the belief that they are capable and deserving of happiness, success and love. Get your students to read the sentence, look in the mirror and repeat the sentence again and then color in the 'Under the Sea' themed Growth Mindset worksheet.
There are many other positive reinforcement games that teachers can play with students. Here are a few ideas you can play and then use my Growth Mindset - Positive Affirmations - Coloring in Worksheet as consolidation:
- Catch the Compliment: In this game, students write compliments about each other on small pieces of paper. The teacher collects the compliments and reads them aloud. The student who is being complimented gets to catch a small toy or ball.
- High Five Challenge: This game challenges students to reach a certain goal, such as completing a certain number of math problems. When they achieve the goal, they get a high five from the teacher or another student.
- Treasure Box: Create a treasure box filled with small toys, stickers, and other fun items. When students do something positive, they get to choose a prize from the treasure box.
- Class Compliments: Set a goal for the class, such as being respectful to each other or completing assignments on time. When the class achieves the goal, they get a compliment from the teacher and a reward, such as extra recess time.
- Team Points: Divide the class into teams and award points for positive behavior. The team with the most points at the end of the week gets a reward, such as a pizza party or movie day.

When a loved one passes away, making sense of the grief that comes as part of this experience can often be difficult and overwhelming. With Grief and Loss Portfolio Project - Coping with Death, you'll get an accessible resource that helps young people make sense of the emotions they are feeling in a supportive environment.
This portfolio project starts with facilitating open dialogue amongst those affected. This constitutes an important first step for moving forward, finding peace, and otherwise healing from a traumatic event. In the social story that is included in this product that relates with feeling disgusted, students will learn how to express their feelings or concerns in a way that is respectful and honest, as opposed to being rude or hurtful, thinking of others feelings before making comments, what can be said instead of saying something such as , "That's disgusting!" or "That's gross!"
The social story include comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. At the end of this product, there are 4 role-playing scenario cards that will require students to discuss what they should do if they see something, taste something, or smell something that may be disgusting, and will give them insight on how to handle each situation provided so they are being kind and respectful, yet honest.

Mental Health Awareness Lesson - Self Care Smoothie - Creative Therapy

This is a fun, engaging, creative and non-threatening intervention which is great for students to explore emotional regulation, anger management, reflective practice and self care.
What to do?
1.Encourage students to explore each of the 24 realistic scenarios on each page and reflect on how that scenario would make them feel. This also encourages empathy, compassion and consideration into the feelings and actions of others as they resonate with each scenario.
2.The next step is for the students to explore the “Self-Care Ingredients” list and tick what self-care strategy they could employ and use for that particular scenario. This helps students to reflect, explore and gain insight into their own feelings and behaviours.
3.Students then put those ingredients into the “blender” which is located on each page to cement the lesson. There are 24 visuals for already developed self-care strategies which students can utilize. There are an addition 12 blank visual cards for students to explore some of their own individual and unique self-care strategies that work for them.
4.Lastly, students can create a name for that particular self-care smoothie. This heightens the learning outcomes and students become more likely to explore and employ these self-care strategies within their everyday life.

SELF ESTEEM SMOOTHIE ACTIVITY - Creative Therapy CBT DBT

This is a fun, engaging, creative and non-threatening intervention which is great for students to explore self-esteem. In particular, self-confidence, identify, feeling of belonging and feeling of competence.
What to do?
1.Encourage students to explore each of the 24 realistic scenarios on each page and reflect on how that scenario would make them feel. This also encourages self-compassion and consideration of feelings and actions as they resonate with each scenario.
2.The next step is for the students to explore the “Self-Esteem Ingredients” list and tick what self-esteem strategy they could employ and use for that particular scenario. This helps students to reflect, explore and gain insight into their own feelings and behaviours.
3.Students then put those ingredients into the “blender” which is located on each page to cement the lesson. There are 20 visuals for already developed self-esteem and confidence strategies which students can utilize. There are an addition 12 blank visual cards for students to explore some of their own individual and unique self-esteem strategies that work for them.
4.Lastly, students can create a name for that particular self-care smoothie. This heightens the learning outcomes and students become more likely to explore and employ these self-care strategies within their everyday life.

Feeling Determined Social Story and Role-Playing Scenarios

This product includes 1 social story that focuses on feeling determined. Students will learn the meaning for the words determined, confident, motivation, goal, and persevere.
In the social story that is included in this product students will learn about feeling determined, what feeling determined means, how you feel when you feel confident and determined, if you are determined you will have goals that you want to achieve compared to when you don't feel determined, how you feel when you have positive self-esteem and negative self-esteem, if you feel determined you will have positive self-esteem instead of negative self-esteem and why, what you should do when you build self-esteem, when you lack determination how you feel or what you do, and how to build determination. When reading the social story on feeling determined, students will learn what the character had to do that would require determination and perseverance, how the students showed determination in the social story, and why students were motivated to remain focused and work hard.
The social story include comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. At the end of this product, there are 4 role-playing scenario cards that will require students to discuss how they feel when they are feeling determined and what each character feels in each situation and why, what the character can do to feel better about the given situation, what the student would do if they were in that situation, etc.

SELF LOVE SNOWMAN I Winter Craft Activity I Self-Esteem Counselling Lesson

Teaching children to cultivate a foundation of compassion, gratitude, confidence & self-love needs to start at a young age. This counseling creative activity encourages children to create their own “Self-Care” snowman. This craft encourages children to reflect and explore who they are, including their qualities & attributes and what makes them unique and special.
What to do:
- Cut out the various snowman parts (head, body, accessories etc.)
- Glue snowman together.
- Complete the three piece sentence sequence – “I feel” “Because” “I need”.
- Don’t forget to give your snowman a name.
You can make as many snowman as you want. Templates are included for different emotions to help students explore their self care when they feel a variety of feelings and reflecting on why they felt that way as well as what they needed to look after themselves and their emotions.
