My students are confusing them for each other continuously. The words there, their, and they're are emphasized in this product. The Graphic Novel, Camp By Kayla Miller is a must read for students. My students enjoyed this book because it is a book about friendship, solving problems, trying new things, and growing up as they navigate middle school. This book does not have chapters, so comprehension questions were separated by pages. Therefore, written comprehension skills are emphasized while reading.

The 2001 movie, The Luck of the Irish makes a connection with St. Patrick's Day, and the luck of the Irish. Kyle, the main character is trying to discover his heritage and learns a few things about being Irish as he learns. Vocabulary that is learned and reviewed includes: heritage, immigrants, and heritage. Students will learn facts about Ireland and being Irish as they watch the movie.

Students will also learn about problem solving skills, working hard, following rules, working together, and being a good friend, citizen, and family member. The comprehension questions in this product relate with the movie as well as students own experiences. Students can also write sentences uses unknown vocabulary words in sentences. Students can answer these comprehension questions as they watch the movie or after they have finished the movie. The novel, Sideway Stories from Wayside School is a great read for students. My students enjoyed this book because it is humorous. It gives students the idea that children know more than their teachers. Each chapter has a vocabulary review and comprehension questions. Therefore, written comprehension skills are emphasized while reading.
