This mini comprehension pack includes a comprehension story, two worksheets (one for students to stick in their workbooks and the other for them to write their answers on), and a memo key for easy grading. This comprehension story focuses on the theme of Spring and follows the journey of four forest friends as they discover blossoms in the forest. It includes questions using Bloom's Taxonomy to help develop critical thinking skills. The pack includes critical thinking and creative thinking questions. This community helpers student picture activity allows students to learn about community helpers in our community, add a picture of themselves on each community helper, color each community helper, and look at the sentence that says, "My turn" and copy the same sentence on the lines where it says, "Your turn." Community helper pictures include: nurse, doctor, dentist, firefighter, veterinarian, mail carrier, police officer, chef, and construction worker.

With this community helpers packet, students can write sentences about 9 different community helpers and what they do they do to help their community. Students are provided with possible unfamiliar vocabulary words on each page that they can use to help them to write each sentence independently or with minimal support. This is helpful for my students who are in need of material that is adapted and is also useful for students who need more support with spelling and identifying vocabulary words.
