Winter break has come to an end and students will soon fill the seats of your classroom. Use this icebreaker activity when your kiddos return in January to engage your learners before diving back into the meat of things!

Students can go around the room and learn a little about their peers time off during the holidays by filing out their 15 question activity sheet by writing their classmate's name next to their corresponding activity. This is a great and informal way to allow students time to chat about their time away from school and build community by sharing commonalities.

Student's need to know they are valued and appreciated. One way to let them know is it to present them with certificates, whether you present it publicly, privately, staple it to their assignment being returned to them or, if they have a student folder or journal with pockets, simply place inside for them to find! Each is created with a colorful background, but can be reproduced in black and white as well. In addition, each has a inspiring quote such as the following:
