Force and Motion Reading Comprehension Passages STEM Multiple Choice Questions

This set of Force and Motion Reading Comprehension Passages worksheets with Multiple Choice Questions is ideal for students in grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 to learn about force and motion, but grade 8 and 9 students can also use them.
The passages include:
What is Force?- This passage discusses the different types of forces, how forces affect motion, the distinction between balanced and unbalanced forces, and the methods used to measure force. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts related to force.
What is Motion? This passage explores the various types of motion, how motion is measured, the factors that influence motion, and Newton’s laws of motion. It also offers examples of motion in everyday life, helping students connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications.
Each passage is followed by 10 multiple-choice questions and context clues graphic organizers that test the student’s understanding of the passage. Answer keys are also included, making it easy for educators to assess comprehension.

The first lesson is interactive and involves students cutting out facts, and then sorting these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the students need to use these facts to write four paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson children need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions on a prompt sheet before writing up their conclusion. In the final lesson students need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on to a neat copy on the template provided.

What is a diorama?
A diorama is a three-dimensional scene built to illustrate a topic. Dioramas are small scenes created with layers of materials. A diorama can be made out of a shoe box or similar box that includes a variety of information and pictures about a topic.
Students create a diorama by cutting, coloring, painting, and gluing pieces inside the box to create a model that shows a situation, such as a historical event or animals in their natural environment. Students can be encouraged to add real features such as grass, sand, sticks, etc.
The dioramas do not come with specific assembly instructions. Students should learn about the plant cell first, and use the pieces within this resource to creatively build their own unique diorama! This is a fun way for students to learn and get hands-on with the lesson/topic.
Prep is quick and easy... print the pieces on cardstock for durability and let your students explore the water as an enrichment activity to your lesson plan.
