French Pink Shirt Day Activity Pack

This quick and easy resource is for use near the end of the month of February to recognize Pink Shirt Day. The story behind this day is one that has a positive influence on students as they understand that it is NOT OK to bully EVER.

I hope you are able to use this resource in your class by quickly making copies and allowing students to use their creativity and unique perspectives to colour and decorate how they see fit.

Personally, I made copies onto pink printer paper in poster size 200% to make two big posters with the title 'Jour du chandail rose' and students have placed their T-shirts around the poster. Older students will also make theirs with a writing piece to explain their views on Pink Shirt Day in French.

How to use this resource:

1. Copy a set for students. I like to copy multiple sets (i.e. 3 sets of 8 to insure that students sitting with one another do not have the same page next to them. I find this allows for more creative development as they do not copy their neighbour).

2. Let students colour and create and cut the shape of the T-shirt out

3. Display on a bulletin board or on the wall of your school

4. Use writing sheets to create slogans, writing prompts, and a quick paragraph about why bullying is not OK

The Sliders Game! Students match the 28 slider scenarios with the correct emotion the scenarios would evoke. they slide the slider portion until the emotion showing matches the emotions the situation would evoke. There is more than one possible answer to scenarios. As long as student reasoning and logic is sound, accept all answers. To assemble: Print Single Sided. Laminate. Cut Apart Half Page Cards. Cut Apart Bookmark Sized Sliders. Leave the white tips at the top and bottom of sliders intact. Only cut vertically. To create the sliders: 1) Cut slits along the two black lines on the situation cards. 2) Place the slider strip behind the card. 3) Push the slider strip through the front of the first slit (from the back), and out through the second slit (from the front). 4) Students slide the slider portion to match the emotion that the situation would evoke. (Refer to the pictures in the product preview) In the end, your students will know more about what situations evoke certain emotions. I hope you and your students love this activity! How Could You Be Super teaches students that in the everyday situations they encounter, they can be super helpful. Students may not realize how powerful they are and just how much of an impact they can have on others if they lend a helping hand.
