How can you use this resource?

⭐Build all the task cards in one sitting. This typically takes 1 – 2 hours to complete the set.

⭐Have the task cards available alongside STEM and STEAM bins, makerspaces, centers, tubs, busy boxes, morning baskets, or available for early finishers to complete using any available materials. Students can even draw their creations instead of building them!

⭐Use one card a day during morning time. Have students fill out a STEAM / STEM worksheet with some of the challenges that require more problem solving and creativity.

⭐Use them for public speaking practice. Allow students to build as many cards as predetermined, followed by show and tell with the class, or their families. Use the Discussion Questions to help guide this portion. Students can practice speaking and listening skills, using loud and clear voices, and giving full attention to the speaker. Encourage students to ask questions to their classmates.

⭐Perfect for partner or group work! Allow students to work with partners, or in groups with specific roles as they problem solve together.

How do I set up the activity?

Just print and play! Everything you need is included in your download. You don’t need locks (you can prepare one or even use my digital lock included in this kit if you wish to), envelopes, or special equipment. You can hang or hide the puzzles or just spread them out on the kitchen table.

Do I have to print out the game materials for every kid?

Nope! You ONLY have to print out the answer sheet for each kid or group. Just one set of the actual puzzles is all you need! If you choose to use the digital version to save paper and ink, then you will only need to print the QR codes for the Mission (get the kids to scan and read this first), Hint Cards and Puzzle Tasks 1-9.

Do I have to print out the Mystery Door for the game?

Nope! I suggest that you show the picture of the door + QR code on your phone or laptop for pupils to scan and enter their 4-digit secret code. You can also use an actual lock where the kids can actually enter the 4-digit secret codes to complete the game.

Everyone dreads hearing, "My best friend is moving." Friends are a big deal to our little ones, it can be hard for them to cope with the change of their friend switching schools. To help ease the pain, I designed the "My Best Friend is Moving, BFF Memory Book." This is a fun activity that besties can do together before the big move to reflect on all the fun times they had together during their friendship. The Memory Book easy to make, you double side print the Memory Book pages and staple along the left hand side to bind the pages like a book. Each of the two students then gets a Memory Book, either Book A or Book B (labels are in the bottom right hand cover of the book). The students then work together to complete both books. Students have to pay special attention to who is being asked to answer the question. If it asks for friend A, friend A completes that page. If it asks for friend B, friend B completes the page. This means that even though each of the two books belongs to a specific student, they will both be sharing the activities inside both books. In the end, they will have two completed books filled with their memories together. Each of them can keep one book forever to look back at all the fun they had together. ⭐Build all the task cards in one sitting. This typically takes 1 – 2 hours to complete the set.

⭐Have the task cards available alongside STEM and STEAM Activity bins, Makerspaces, centers, tubs, busy boxes, morning baskets, or available for early finishers to complete using any available materials. Students can even draw their creations instead of building them!

⭐Use one card a day during morning time. Have students fill out a STEAM / STEM worksheet with some of the challenges that require more problem solving and creativity.

⭐Use them for public speaking practice. Allow students to build as many cards as predetermined, followed by show and tell with the class, or their families. Use the Discussion Questions to help guide this portion. Students can practice speaking and listening skills, using loud and clear voices, and giving full attention to the speaker.
