Less than $5 4th Grade School Counseling Activities (by date, oldest first)

Glimmers, which are the opposite of triggers are those moments of pure joy and serenity that light up their lives. I use the materials to share and practice glimmers with my students & after just 3 days back the kids have already started using the term "glimmer" when something brings them joy!

The word Glimmers originates from Deb Dana, LCSW, psychotherapist, and author who coined the term. Glimmers which is the opposite of a trigger are those fleeting instances that bring us warmth and peace, offering a profound positive impact on our mental health. With gratitude & written permission from Deb Dana, I'm thrilled to share these activities with fellow educators!

Materials Included:

PowerPoint: Utilize the included PowerPoint slide show to introduce the concept of Glimmers to your students. With 40 slides featuring real-life pictures, students can begin to recognize things that bring them Glimmers. It also helps create connection and shared interests, with their classmates.

Bulletin Board: Colorful lettering (multiple styles) to make a bulletin board for your classroom or your school. Cards are included for students (& staff) to share the things that bring them glimmers

2 pages of "me and my Glimmer". Take a picture of your students happy with their glimmers & attach to the page. A great reminder of the things that bring us joy.

Encouraging positive affirmations/compliments with cute animals, coloring bookmarks/cards for kids, these could be used as a fun positivity coloring activity at a party, in the classroom, or done as a homeschool craft activity, bulletin board decor, used as party favors and DIY gifts for Birthdays, Valentine's Day, Random Acts of Kindness Day, 100th day, anti-bullying, for early finisher activity, and more.

For best results print them on thick cardstock paper or could be printed on colored paper to be given out as is without coloring.
