This One Step Equations | Around the World Escape Room is a fun way to engage your middle schoolers in learning how to solve one step equations!
Travel to different places around the world while reinforcing how to solve one step equations. Your students are bound to love this done-for-you digital escape room!
Your students will “visit” four different cities: Sydney, St. Petersburg, London and San Francisco.
In order to travel from one city to another, they will have to solve one step equations.
There are 40 equations.
After completing each game, they will find a link that will take them to another location.
This activity is designed to work on laptops, tablets, or smartphones which makes it accessible to any of your learners and students!
Since this escape room is online (interactive pages) there is very little prep; just duplicate the student answer sheet, provide the link, and off they go! There are no locks to configure or clues to hide—everything you need is online. No Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams logins are necessary.

Students will partner up, spin a paperclip around a pencil point, land on a number, determine the factors of that number, check your answer in the Google Sheet & get points! Connect: A Math- Based Free For All (Solving trinomials when a = 1)

Connect is a math-based card game that engages students. They can practice any math skill and have fun in this fast-paced environment. Students use flashcard-like playing cards and math symbols to match each other's cards. When there is a match, both players shout out the answer to the shown equation, and the fastest player wins!
The catch is, there could be multiple matches in a round when the top cards are taken off, creating a chain reaction of fun!
The best part is, you can edit the cards using Google Slides to fit any of your needs! This game can be used for ANY skill. Currently, the game is set up for solving trinomials when a = 1, but you can replace equations as you see fit. It's easy change the cards to addition, fractions, percent, solving equations, factoring, etc.
Even though the game is designed for math, you could switch the game from math equations to sight words, rhyming words, description words, science words, important dates in history, etc. The cards are editable!
