Less than $5 5th Grade Ancient History Google Apps (by date, latest first)

Teach your students all about the history of Valentine's Day with this fun and interactive STEAM lesson. Students will watch educational videos, go through detailed slides with vocabulary words and definitions, go on a virtual field trip to Italy, and finish with a fun and engaging STEAM activity. Students will create their own mailboxes for valentines day!

You will need:

• Construction Paper 
• Card Stock
• Cardboard
• Markers, colored pencils, crayons, or paint
• Pipe cleaners, pom poms, and other decorative items
• Ruler
• Scissors
• Glue

Help your students stay organized while completing their Codex Writing Project in unit 2 of CKLA (5th grade). I have my students complete their Maya, Aztec, and Inca organizer sheets right after we finish the chapters on each civilization when it is fresh in their minds. This helps my students get their thoughts down on paper and keeps them organized as to the expectations of the project.

This resource is a fifth grade and sixth grade informational text writing unit about Ancient Rome. The unit focuses on key facts about the civilisation, and has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

The Google Slides activity is ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in 5th grade or 6th grade learning about World History or Ancient History.

The first lesson is interactive and involves students reading facts, and then sorting and ordering these facts into paragraphs by copying and pasting. In the second lesson the children need sort the facts in order before typing four draft paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson they need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions before typing up their conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs before typing up their work on to the template provided.

A class set of activities might take around 15-20 minutes to mark; the teacher can then send the students their marks automatically, which allows them to read back through their work. Nearly all answers are not automatically generated, but only require a small amount of work to assign points. This is because the aim is to get students writing answers and not to just have multiple choice options.
