INSTRUCTIONS:

♦ DOMINO

  • Print them out and cut them up, laminate (optional). Print out enough sets so that your students can play in groups of 2 - 4.
  • Shuffle the domino cards face down.
  • One by one, players draw 7 cards, they do not show them to the other players.
  • The youngest player places a card down.
  • Go clockwise. If a card in your hand is a match -> place it next to its opposite on the desk.
  • If you have no matching cards -> draw a card from the pile. If this card matches -> put it down. If it does not match, the turn passes onto the next person.
  • Whoever lays down all their cards first is the winner.

♦ SNAKES & LADDERS

  • The game is played with two or more players.
  • Each player chooses a game piece and places it on the starting square.
  • The first player rolls the die and moves their game piece forward the number of spaces indicated by the die.
  • If the player lands on a square with the bottom of a ladder, they move their game piece to the top of the ladder.
  • If the player lands on a square with the head of a snake, they move their game piece to the tail of the snake.
  • Players name the adjectives - the green ticks mark which adjective they need to name. I’ve paired them up with their opposite to make the meaning of each adjective clearer. You can also have your students use the adjective in a sentence.
  • The game continues in this way, with each player taking turns rolling the die and moving their game piece.
  • The first player to reach the final square wins the game.
