This printable kids' game includes 10 riddles and hiding spots for kids to venture around the house looking for clues and decoding the secret code words. Each riddle reveals a new hiding spot and code word.

HOW IT WORKS:

Print the clues and cut them in half

Fold the clues in half and hide them WELL in the hiding spots provided (see the list of hiding spots below_

A “secret mission” is read

Clue # 1 is handed to the “treasure seeker” which leads to clue 2 in a different location

Players can decode the code words on each clue as they go, or all at the same time once they’ve found all the clue cards, then write them on the answer sheet

Collect all the letters in the shaded areas on the answer sheet, then unscramble them to reveal the secret code word leading them to the final prize

The final prize is up to you! Maybe it’s a birthday gift, candy, party favors, or a handwritten letter about your next vacation. The possibilities are endless as to what you choose to hide in the final location.

In this product, students will learn the English vocabulary word for the 98 different Halloween vocabulary words presented over 229 pages.

This product can be used with students who are learning English. It can serve as an in class practice, review, or quiz.

Students will initially write each vocabulary word in their native language after learning the English word and being shown a picture. At the end of this section, students will have the opportunity to choose 11 Halloween vocabulary words and make up a sentence using each one. Students will also be provided with short answer questions regarding Halloween vocabulary words that were presented.

In the second section of the product, there is a Halloween vocabulary review that requires students to write the English word and the word in the student's native language based on the picture and sentence provided for each Halloween vocabulary word.

In the third section of the product, there is a Halloween vocabulary review that requires students to make up a sentence for each pronoun vocabulary word learned in their native language.

In the fourth section of this product, students will then be required to write the English Halloween vocabulary word and make up a sentence in English.

This is a scavenger hunt using task cards that analyzes how Halloween began, traiditions, popular candy and movies.

This resource begins by challenging students with a mission, find the golden pumpkin hidden in the Whispering Woods by a witch years ago. Check out the preview to see what each task card entails. Students will need to walk around the room reading the task cards. Each task card has a code word on the bottom which is the answer to the question/fill in the blank. The answer will NOT be found on that same task card. For example, the answer to task card #1 is found by reading the passage on task card #6. Students MUST record which task card they found the answer on in their answer sheet under the “FOUND CARDS #” column. That column will be used at the end for the 4 digit lock code. They will follow the clues to find the correct 4 digit code. Once they have completed the scavenger hunt they will receive a half sheet of paper stating that they have successfully found the golden pumpkin!

This activity would be a great as a center activity, a group activity, a holiday activity on or near Halloween, etc. Students will be engaged with the learning while having a fun time trying to solve all of the clues!

Students will need to walk around the room reading the task cards. Each task card has a code word on the bottom which is the answer to the question/fill in the blank. The answer will NOT be found on that same task card. For example, the answer to task card #1 is found by reading the passage on task card #6. Students MUST record which task card they found the answer on in their answer sheet under the “FOUND CARDS #” column. That column will be used at the end for the 4 digit lock code. They will follow the clues to find the correct 4 digit code. Once they have completed the scavenger hunt they will receive a half sheet of paper stating that they have successfully escaped the haunted house!

This activity would be a great as a center activity, a group activity, a holiday activity on or near Halloween, etc. Students will be engaged with the learning while having a fun time trying to solve all of the clues!
