Classifying Plants and Animals Adapted Notes and Review

In this product, students will learn about the following: living things - plants and animals and where they live and what they need to live, nutrients and why they are important for plants and animals to survive, the parts of a plant - roots, stems, leaves, and cells. Students will also learn that they can classify plants by the shape of their outside edge, texture, and vein pattern. Students will learn the vein pattern in leaves - netted or parallel veins. Students will also learn about smooth leaf margin and jagged leaf margins. Students will learn about the texture of plants - waxy texture, rough texture, and smooth texture. Students will also learn about the stem structure - soft stems and woody stems. Students will then learn about the root stems - taproots and fibrous roots of plants. As students are learning about the classification of plants they will answer comprehension questions throughout the product to ensure comprehension. Students will then draw a picture of each part of the plant that they are learning about. At the end of the product, students will answer fill in the blank questions that review vocabulary was covered throughout the product.
