Adapted Reading & Writing Assessment Pre-Primer - Third Grade

By Sign with me TOD

This product can be used with students as an informal/formal adapted assessment. Students will be required to identify the pre-primer, primer, 1st grade,2nd grade, and/or 3rd grade Dolch sight words. If students begin at the pre-primer level and are able to identify a specific amount of each section of sight words, they are going to be ranked as independent, instructional, or frustration when identifying those sight words. Students are then provided with a sentence or brief comprehension passage for each Dolch sight word list. The questions and short passages have been adapted and shortened compared to other reading assessments so baseline data can be collected, especially with those students are struggling. This will help gauge where students need the most support in terms of identifying sight words, reading simple sentences/passages, and answering comprehension questions that relate with what is read.

Key Features
Retaining a meticulous design, this checklist encompasses the subsequent 100 Fry sight words, maintaining the consistent layout of 9 columns per page. Each column provides designated areas for recording dates, staff signatures, word tracking, and percentage calculations, ensuring comprehensive and consistent assessment across multiple practice trials.

Available in both full-color and black-and-white versions, this resource ensures adaptability for various printing needs, ensuring suitability for diverse classroom settings.

Complementary Practice Tools
Supplementing the checklist, dedicated flashcards tailored to the seventh set of 100 Fry sight words offer essential reinforcement and practice support, fostering a consistent and effective learning experience.

Why Learning the 7th 100 Fry Sight Words Matters
Expanding upon earlier word sets, mastering this additional group significantly enhances reading capabilities and overall language proficiency. This resource represents a crucial step in advancing reading fluency, bolstering confidence, and nurturing sustained reading development.

Advantages of Fry Words over Dolch Words The Fry Sight Words list is organized into 10 groups of 100 words each, covering the most frequently used words in writing. Starting with the initial 300 words in early education significantly boosts reading and comprehension skills. While Fry words aren't strictly tied to specific grades, they're usually introduced in sets of 100 words to support gradual sight word recognition. Here's a general guide for introducing these sets:

  • First 100 Fry Words: Typically introduced in kindergarten and first grade.
  • Second 100 Fry Words: Taught in first or second grade, reinforcing foundational words.
  • Third 100 Fry Words: Added in second or third grade, including more complex words.
  • Fourth 100 Fry Words: Introduced in third or fourth grade, advancing vocabulary.
  • Fifth 100 Fry Words: Presented in fourth or fifth grade, offering more challenging words.

The 6th to 10th sets of 100 Fry words are usually introduced later, depending on the student's mastered words.

Track Multiplication and Division Facts: Assessment in Google Sheets™

By Tech for Teaching

Multiplication and Division Progress Monitoring Assessment!

Multiplication facts with products to 100 and division facts with dividends to 100!

Do you want an easy and efficient way to track and analyze your fourth grade and fifth grade student data and progress on multiplication and division facts?

Look forward to assessment day with this DIGITAL ASSESSMENT TOOL in GOOGLE SHEETS!

-Each probe includes 60 multiplication equations with products to 100.

-Facts were randomly generated from a list with no repeats on a probe!

-Students should point to each equation and say the product. These probes are intended to be administered timed (1 minute) but could be untimed as well. They measure a student’s fluency with multiplication facts to nine.

How they work:

Check the missed items on the assessor probe to AUTOMATICALLY CALCULATE correct responses and ACCURACY. All data is copied to the student data sheet and correct items are GRAPHED!

-Please see the DIRECTIONS included in the preview for a full explanation of the process.

-These are an all-in-one Google Sheets™ Workbook that can be duplicated for each student you would like to progress monitor.

-I have included a PDF of the student probes for convenience.

Sample Goal:

The student will demonstrate an improvement in her math calculation skills as demonstrated by a curriculum-based assessment of multiplication facts with products to 100 from a baseline score of 12 correct in one minute to a goal score of 45 correct in one minute.

This comprehensive bundle encapsulates the comprehensive journey through the seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth sets of 100 Fry sight words, offering a structured approach to mastering sight words across higher levels of language proficiency.

Key Features
Each checklist within this bundle retains the meticulous design with 9 columns per page, ensuring thorough progress tracking and assessment across multiple trials. Available in both full-color and black-and-white versions, these checklists are adaptable to various printing needs and diverse classroom settings.

Focused Goal Setting
Empower teaching objectives by establishing precise IEP goals aligned with each set of 100 Fry sight words. These checklists assist in creating targeted and measurable learning objectives, enhancing sight word recognition in more complex linguistic contexts.

Complementary Practice Tools
Supplementary flashcards accompany each set of 100 Fry sight words within this bundle, providing essential reinforcement and support for consistent and effective practice sessions.

Why This Bundle Matters
By combining the seventh to tenth sets of 100 Fry sight words, this bundle significantly enhances students' reading fluency, amplifies language proficiency, and fosters nuanced reading development. It stands as an indispensable resource for educators committed to guiding students toward advanced sight word mastery and heightened literacy skills.
