This resource contains 3 cross-curricular art projects inspired by the artwork of Judith Scott, an amazing artist with Down’s Syndrome.  Ideal for Women’s History Month (March) or International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3), this highly engaging lesson is a perfect way to teach students about the value of all people, even those who are different.

This lesson is designed for special needs students to succeed in the art room but can be used with all Kindergarten - 5th grade students.

All editable templates are in PowerPoint form. You will download files in flattened and secured PowerPoint file format. This format will allow text changes and editing font colors, etc. Graphics, clipart and photos may be inserted for personal use.

If you do not have PowerPoint then you can use a free on-line version at ww.officelive.com - you just need to create an account.

You can change the font to whatever you prefer or already use in your class - I know I have favorites! The fonts are embedded so you can use them straight away - but it is easy to change the font to a favorite if you prefer. Included is a guide to change all the font with just a click or two if you want to use your fav. one.

The Folder and Binder Covers and Labels are designed to fit on 8.5" x 11" paper and can be reduced or enlarged at the time of printing if needed or can be printed 2 or 4 per page using your printer's settings. If A4 size is needed then you can adjust the template to fit A4 paper size at the time of printing by clicking FIT TO PAGE. Border-free printing will depend on your printer's capability and settings.

This product includes three file folders activities.

In the first file folder activity, students will match each of the 10 questions about Groundhog day. Students can match each question card with the answer in a picture form or the answer in sentence form.

In the second file folder activity, students will answer the 9 questions about groundhogs and will match each question card with the correct answer card.

In the third file folder activity, students will label the 7 parts of the groundhog - ear, nose, eye, teeth, claws, tail, and leg. Students can also use a dry erase marker (after the file folder is laminated) and use the given key to label each part of the groundhog.
