This social story is designed to support children who have been taking things that don’t belong to them. It helps children understand that stealing is inappropriate and encourages them to ask permission before borrowing items they like. The story explains that borrowed items must always be returned and highlights the importance of respecting other people’s belongings. Through clear, compassionate language, this story teaches children about making the right choices and how to handle situations where they may want something that belongs to someone else.

What is included?

As well as a 17 page social story there is also a shortened adapted book version of the story with movable pictures to attach to each page.

Why do you need this?

The point of a social story is to use a patient and reassuring tone to teach children about social situations in a way that can be easily understood. Social stories can be useful for any child who is struggling to understand a situation or concept or needs help to understand a social skill or social cue, expectations, perspectives, common responses or is troubled about an upcoming event but social stories are particularly useful for children on the autistic spectrum for whom social cues can be challenging and who often suffer anxiety if they do not know what to expect from a situation.

How and when might you use this?

· To implement a social story, you should first ensure that you have eliminated distractions; that it is just you and the child sitting together focussed on the story.

· Initially you should read the story through twice with the child but it is then vital to revisit it regularly.

· Try to find a way to incorporate the story into the child's daily schedule.

· If the story is relating to a particular inappropriate behavior, it is useful to read the story when this behavior occurs, you do not however want the story to be seen as any kind of punishment.

· Regularly praise your child and keep it a positive experience.

These books should be used over and over to reinforce the point so I would suggest either putting the pages into a display book or laminating and binding them.

These editable star sticker chart or reward chart templates are in PowerPoint form. You will download files in a flattened and secured PowerPoint file format. This format will allow editing and rearranging of text, text changes and editing font colors, etc. You can insert a table or your own graphics into the blank templates where room allows. Please note that Clipart is not editable.

If you do not have PowerPoint then you can use a free on-line version at www.officelive.com - you just need to create an account.

You can change the font to whatever you prefer - I know I have favorites! The font used in the templates are free font. Potato Chips font and Hello Miss Thang fonts are used and can be downloaded for free (personal use only) by clicking on the links.

The Star themed Sticker, Reward or Incentive Charts are designed to fit on 8.5" x 11" paper and can be reduced or enlarged at the time of printing if needed or can be printed multiple times per page using your printer's settings. Unicorn One Page Color, Cut, and Paste Craft and Write Activities.

Students will love creating these adorable unicorn crafts! These one page crafts using simple shapes and thicker lines making it easier for little hands to cut. One unicorn has 5 simple shapes to cut, and the second unicorn is more complex and has 12 shapes to color, cut out, and put together given model. After making their unicorns, students can write about them using the provided paper. Perfect for bulletin boards, centers, as well as OT sessions, groups, homeschool lessons, and fun home activity.

These are one page, no prep, print and go activities.

Included:

•2 one page unicorn crafts

•4 different kinds of handwriting paper including papers with highlighted lines and drawing space.

•1 handwriting pages with one sentence printed on them to practice nearpoint copy skills.

•1 handwriting page to nearpoint copy words.

Directions

•First students color shapes, then cut them out, and then glue together using the model

•Then students can write about their unicorn!

This activity is a cut – sort – paste activity which encourages the student to read through and sort through the various toileting cards and place them in the correct order.

In this product, students will learn 33 pronouns presented. Students will also be provided with pictures of each pronoun to help them make up a sentence. Students are also provided with an example of each pronoun used in a sentence.

In the first section, students will be required to write each pronoun. At the end of this section, students can choose 8 pronouns and create sentences. Students will then be provided with 10 sentences and will be required to circle each pronoun.

In the second section, students will be required to write a sentence for each pronoun based on the example sentence and picture provided.
