If you need a quick lesson to fill in during the Thanksgiving season, or just want to encourage your students to be grateful, these three lessons will help!
Lessons include:
* Thanksgiving story word scramble (with answer key)
* "I'm Thankful For" writing activity
* Thanksgiving WebQuest / Internet Scavenger Hunt (with answer key)
Created for middle school, these lessons will work for upper elementary as well. Each lesson takes approximately one (50 minute) class period.
This lesson is great for distance learning/remote learning. You can upload it to your school's learning management system (Google Classroom, Edmodo, Canvas, etc.) or share with students via Google Drive.

In this lesson, students learn interesting facts about the history and invention of toys as they complete several projects including a WebQuest (Internet Scavenger Hunt) to answer questions about the topic. Next, students will be challenged by creating a presentation to showcase how different toys evolved over the years, comparing toys of fifty years ago with modern ones. Christmas Writing Around the World: An Interactive Experience for Year 3-6 Students
"Christmas Writing Around the World" is a fun, interactive map tool designed to immerse students in the festive traditions of Christmas from various global perspectives. This engaging digital experience allows students to explore and discover Christmas traditions from six countries: Australia, USA, Canada, Mexico, France, and the UK.
This simple Christmas activity lets students click on the markers scattered around these countries, revealing a story from the perspective of a child in that specific location. Each story details their unique Christmas traditions, foods, and other special aspects of their holiday celebration, including what the weather is like during Christmas. Students will get to learn about the warm, sunny Christmas in Australia, the snowy festivities in Canada, and the charming customs in Mexico, France, the USA, and the UK.
As they navigate the map, students can zoom in and out, making the experience more interactive and engaging. Animal Adaptations How Do Birds Survive in Winter WebQuest

Students will learn about birds' different adaptations to help them survive the cold winter months. The quest takes place at Cornell University's Lab of Ornithology. They can work with partners (I find students are most engaged this way) to learn about different adaptations as you act as the facilitator. It is also perfect for individual distance learning.
