Division Dice Game: Division Golf: Division math fact practice divisible by 1-10

Sick of the timed tests for division math facts? Try this fun division dice game to practice those division math facts instead. These fun games allow students to practice single digit math facts for division. They play a game of golf with a partner (or by themselves) and try to roll the math fact in the least amount of rolls to reach par. All of the games practice division facts from 0-10. Take the monotonous timed test out of the picture and have students play a fun game of golf instead!
What you get:
Choose to laminate the game board for multiple uses or print new ones
each time.
What you will need:
You can play with a partner and try to reach par in the least amount of "strokes" or points. This game includes different ways to play using a die, or two dice, adding, or subtracting before you divide. It is a fun way to practice your division facts. These games would be great for math centers or fun fast finisher activity.

Middle School Math: Solving One Step Equations with Rational Numbers

LESSON: ONE_STEP EQUATIONS PUZZLE GAME
GRADE LEVEL: MIDDLE SCHOOL
TIME FRAME: 1 HOUR
OBJECTIVE:
o The learner will work to solve one-step equations with rational numbers.
o The learner will solve equations that include decimals fractions, to solve for x.
MATERIALS:
o Scissors
o Zip lock bags
o Construction paper and glue
o Optional: lamination for storage and reuse. If you choose this, construction paper and glue will not be needed, as they will not glue the pieces to construction paper.
o Print out of puzzle for the instructor as an answer sheet.
PREPARATION:
Students will be working in pairs to complete the equations puzzle, which requires students to solve one-step equations with rational number. Place students in teams of two. Duplicate enough copies for each team to have one puzzle. Cut out the puzzle pieces and place them into a Ziplock bag.
Optional: You may laminate the puzzle pieces for reuse if you choose to keep the pieces to use one year to the next. However, you will not need construction paper and glue if lamination is chosen.
INTRODUCTION: (20 minutes)
Ask students what constitutes an equation.
Answer: An equation says that two things are equal, and may contain two or more
variables.
Ask students what constitute a rational number.
Answer: A number that you can put into fraction such a decimal, fraction, percent or
whole number.
Review how to work through a one-step equation using the following equations:
• 5x=80 Answer (16)
• x+-20=17 Answer: (37)
• x-(-10)=-10 Answer: (-20)
• x-4 1/3=2 2/3 Answer: (7)

TEAM ACTIVITY: (30 minutes)
Provide each team with a puzzle in a Ziplock bag. Provide students 15-30 minutes to solve the equations and place the puzzle together. You may even encourage a competition to see which groups can complete the puzzle first providing prizes to first place, second place, and third place. Once they have the puzzle completed, have them glue it to a piece of construction paper if you have not chosen to laminate the game pieces for reuse.
CLOSURE / EVALUATION: (20 minutes)
Using an overhead projector or smart board projector that will display the puzzle pieces, work with the class to solve the puzzle. Students will check their answers.
ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY/HOMEWORK
Give students a blank chart and allow them to create a puzzle for that they can give to another group/student to complete. Make sure the student keeps a copy of the puzzle to act as the answer sheet.
TEACHER’S ANSWER SHEET
Each puzzle has the answers in itself before being cut into puzzle pieces. The equations on the outer edges of the puzzle will not have answers to match. This makes the puzzle more challenging

These KaBoom cards are a fun way to practice key arithmetic skills, with differentiation built in. Players choose whether they want to choose an easier question (red), but will receive less points for their correct answer, or risk a more challenging question (green) and gain greater rewards.

Begin by laying all the cards out face down (so you see only the number of points they are worth). Players take turns to select a card, either red, yellow or green. The difficulty of the questions will increase. They may also pick up either a Steal Card, giving them a chance to steal from any other player, a Shield, which protects them from the next KaBoom, and KaBoom cards which means you lose all your collected points so far.
Play as a whole class in teams, or print multiple copies to play in small groups around the table. If students get the answer incorrect, or they need some help, you as the teacher decides whether you will allow them another guess or not. Questions answered incorrectly go in the ‘house’ pile, along with any cards lost in a KaBoom. At the end of the game, add up the ‘house’ pile. The winner is the player or team with the highest points (including any shield cards that have been unused). The house can win.
Included are two copies of the game; one designed for a double sided printer and one designed for single sided printing where you need to turn over the pages yourself to print double sided.
Full instructions are included as are answers.

Players choose whether they want to choose an easier question (red), but will receive less points for their correct answer, or risk a more challenging question (green) and gain greater rewards.
The red cards consist of questions involving addition and subtraction with multiplication and division. It also includes questions such as 8-2+3 which tests student’s knowledge of the equal importance of addition and subtraction.
The Yellow Cards consist of questions involving brackets and some easy powers.
The Green Card consists of more challenging Order of Operations questions including more challenging powers combined with brackets.
Begin by laying all the cards out face down (so you see only the number of points they are worth). Players take turns to select a card, either red, yellow or green. The difficulty of the questions will increase.
They may also pick up either a Steal Card, giving them a chance to steal from any other player, a Shield, which protects them from the next KaBoom, and KaBoom cards which means you lose all your collected points so far.
Play as a whole class in teams, or print multiple copies to play in small groups around the table. If students get the answer incorrect, or they need some help, use your judgement as to whether you will allow them another guess or not.
Questions answered incorrectly go in the ‘house’ pile, along with any cards lost in a KaBoom.
At the end of the game, add up the ‘house’ pile. The winner is the player or team with the highest points (including any shield cards that have been unused). The house can win.
Included are two copies of the game; one designed for a double sided printer and one designed for single sided printing where you need to turn over the pages yourself to print double sided.
