Students will learn about the difference between fiction and non-fiction, what a novel is and what makes the book, Frankenstein a novel. Students will learn about the characters and the events in both the novel and the movie and how they were different from one another. Students will figure out how long ago the book and the movie came out, and will learn facts about Boris Karloff while he was playing the monster, Frankenstein. Students can answer the comprehension questions that relate with the reading passage about Frankenstein in this product to ensure understanding while they are following along.

I used this resource with one of my guided reading groups. They completed the packet as they read the story "Bailey School Kids: Wizards Do Roast Turkeys #6" by Debbie Dadey & Marcia Thornton Jones. If they finished they could choose from the extra activities. Answer key is included!
