This is a scavenger hunt using task cards that is based on Greek Gods which are part of what that are studied in the 6th grade curriculum within Comparative Classical Civilizations in the Eastern Hemisphere for Ancient Greece. This resource begins by challenging students with a mission, complete the tasks to solve the mystery word and four digit code to have the Greek Gods offer you immortality and a seat in Mount Olympus. Students will read about Zeus, Poseidon, Hermes, Hera, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Hephaestus and Demeter. This activity will have students reading about each Greek God; their symbols, what they were god of, and their importance to Ancient Greek. Check out the preview to see what each task card entails. Students will need to walk around the room reading the task cards. Each task card has a code word on the bottom which is the answer to the question/fill in the blank. The answer will NOT be found on that same task card. For example, the answer to task card #1 is found by reading the passage on task card #8. When I started my procedure of historical enquiry unit each year, I wanted to introduce the all three skills. I was looking for a way to tell students about what the study of historical involves, how it is structured. But...I needed a way to explicitly teach the key skills concept that was engaging and efficient. When I just talked AT students, they looked disinterested.

Well if you know how this feels, this task is for you.

That's why I created this story, source, and scholarship resource. They enjoyed the examples and questions that encouraged the collaborative sharing of their ideas as they worked through the task. I could see that every student was enjoying the lesson, participating in the discussions, and understanding the concepts. It became a life saver.

It is a great introduction to the complexity that is involved in small events in history; easy, interactive, and engaging. I've found that it helps explicitly outline all the skills the students need to develop.

When I started my procedure of historical enquiry unit each year, I wanted to introduce the all three skills. I was looking for a way to tell students about what the study of historical involves, how it is structured. But...I needed a way to explicitly teach the key skills concept that was engaging and efficient. When I just talked AT students, they looked disinterested.

Well if you know how this feels, this task is for you.

That's why I created this story, source, and scholarship resource. They enjoyed the examples and questions that encouraged the collaborative sharing of their ideas as they worked through the task. I could see that every student was enjoying the lesson, participating in the discussions, and understanding the concepts. It became a life saver.

It is a great introduction to the complexity that is involved in small events in history; easy, interactive, and engaging. I've found that it helps explicitly outline all the skills the students need to develop.

The task will cover all the content for a good, detailed understanding of the event or question. It is an excellent resources for absent students who need to covered missed work as it is a self contained, no-prep lesson.
