Bonne rentrée ! Cette activité permettra à vos élèves de/d':

• explorer les livres dans votre classe,
• faire des recommandations à ses pairs,
• utiliser les recommandations de leurs pairs pour découvrir de nouveaux livres,
• faire des liens avec des lectures et des expériences passées,
• créer une « liste de souhaits » de lecture pour l'année scolaire.

Cette ressource est l'une de mes activités préférées pour la rentrée. Plusieurs versions de cette activité sont incluses selon l'âge de vos élèves ! Les élèves utiliseront des trombones ou des pinces à linge pour attacher leurs recommandations à leurs couvertures de livres préférées.

Ensuite, ils créeront leur propre liste de souhaits de livres en fonction des recommandations des camarades de classe.

Enfin, les élèves écriront un court texte persuasif expliquant pourquoi ils pensent que leur livre est le MEILLEUR, ce qui vous donnera un petit échantillon d'écriture afin que vous puissiez mieux répondre aux besoins de vos nouveaux élèves.

As time passes, many great Americans who have shaped the arts, sciences, sports, and history of our nation and culture get lost in time. The Great Americans Series of Biographies and Worksheets is an easy-to-read 200-word Biography of just the highlights of each subject's life designed to keep young readers engaged. The Questions page ensures student reading comprehension and grasp of key points. The Vocabulary page introduces and explains new words, phrases, and/or institutions students may not have been familiar with. The Quotes page challenges students to write what a famous quote by the subject means to them. The Great Americans Series is available individually or in bundles, making great bell work. This is such a fun creative writing activity. This activity has students work in a small group to create a fun and unique story. They will be passing around their writing outline to their group of 5. The first student will choose a character and their characteristics. Then fold the paper down so the next student cannot see what they have written. Student 2 will decide the setting and then fold the paper down again. This will continue to student 3 and 4 where they will choose the conflict and the solution. Then the original student will get their paper back and open their paper and use their outline to create their own creative story. This makes the writing a little bit challenging as they try to create a story that was chosen by their fellow classmates. This can also be a super fun and creative way to expand students writing by stretching them a little outside their comfort zone.
