7th Grade Science Worksheets

I use this as an easy sub day activity. It helps students use critical thinking skills and work on content vocabulary. I use it for any unit and it is my "go to" sub day activity because of how easy it is.

This educational resource is a set of two Atoms and Molecules Reading Comprehension Passages with Multiple Choice Questions.

The passages are a valuable addition to any middle school science curriculum hence suitable for students in grades 6, 7, and 8. They are designed to enhance their understanding of atoms and molecules, which are fundamental concepts in science.

The Passages include:

• Atoms: This passage delves into the intriguing world of atoms, the building blocks of matter. It provides a detailed explanation of atoms, their structure, and their significance in the universe.

• Molecules: This passage explores the concept of molecules, which are groups of two or more atoms bonded together. It elucidates how atoms combine to form molecules, the different types of molecules, states of matter, and their role in our daily lives.

Each passage is followed by a set of multiple-choice questions that test the students’ comprehension of the material. These questions are designed to encourage critical thinking and reinforce the concepts presented in the passages.

Answer Keys are included for all the multiple-choice questions.

Looking for a simple worksheet for students to complete while watching the Netflix Series: Our Planet? Great for sub plans or weird schedule days!

Our Planet is a British nature documentary series made for Netflix. The series is narrated by David Attenborough and produced by Silverback Films, led by Alastair Fothergill and Keith Scholey, who also created BBC documentary series Planet Earth, Frozen Planet and The Blue Planet, in collaboration with the conservation charity World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Netflix has the free episodes of their Our Planet series on YouTube. Each episode is between 49 to 51 minutes long. I usually have students vote on which one they want to watch. You do NOT have to watch them in order.

This is a biography writing unit about the famous English scientist, Isaac Newton. The unit is ideal for fifth grade and sixth grade and has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

The Google Slides activity is ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in 5th grade or 6th grade learning about science, or famous figures.

The first lesson is interactive and involves students reading facts, and then sorting and ordering these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to type four paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson they need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions before typing up their conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs before typing up their work on to the template provided.
