$5 - $10 7th Grade Geometry Activities (by date, oldest first)

This project assesses students ability to draw rectangles, triangles, parallelograms, and trapezoids of given areas on a scaled grid. They will need to be able to use the area formulas to work backwards to find side lengths that fit the requirement for each animal and use the formulas to show that their area calculation is correct.

A detailed MYP Criterion D (Applying Mathematics in the Real World) Rubric is included.

I spent about 2 and a half 90 minute class periods on this project and many students needed to spend some time on it at home as well. I also included several days of activities I did to prepare my students for the skills they would need.

Includes 4 card matching activities, saving $4.25 when purchased as a bundle.

Data Displays - matching box plots, histograms, stem and leaf plots and dot plots that represent the same data. Includes teacher questions and discussion slides

Area Formulas - matching shapes with the correct area formula with the side lengths substituted in and the answers. Includes extension & independent practice.

Properties of Operations - matching expressions using commutative, associative and distributive properties along with their corresponding visual representations.

Multiplying with Fractions/Mixed Numbers - matching multiplication problems with their corresponding visual representation to help students understand the various ways to think about and represent multiplying with fractions. Includes extension activity to help students identify when multiplying with fractions results in a product less than both factors, in between the two factors and greater than both factors.

This 7th Grade Geometry Mystery Project will have your students excited to review area, perimeter, surface area, volume and parallelogram angles! There is a printable and digital version of this project included! They will be solving 36 questions involving 7th grade geometry. They will get 6 clue sheets with 6 questions on each sheet. The answer choice leftover is the answer to that part of the mystery. They will fill in a storyline with their clues to see the whole mystery come together!

This project is the perfect print and go activity OR digital that will take 2-3 days to complete! There is a rubric included and an answer key. Grading couldn't be more simple.

- your students will get a google slide link with the project pages imbedded in the background. They will solve the questions and type their answers in the already given text boxes and then drag a semi-transparent box over the final answer to each clue.
