A card game based on the traditional game of Rummy, where normal cards are exchanged for cards that feature calculations which challenge a player's knowledge of the order of operations There are 52 cards, 4 suits, 13 cards per suit as per a normal game of rummy. A working-out sheet is provided and intended for every student, so they can find solutions to each calculation as the game is played. These order of operations crossword puzzles are designed to captivate your 5th and 6th-grade math students while they enhance their skills in evaluating expressions with multiple operations, which involve grouping symbols and exponents.

In these puzzles, students must solve the expressions and express their answers in words within the crossword format.

Four levels and 40 problems are included:

• Level 1: no parentheses and no exponents
• Level 2: include exponents and no parentheses
• Level 3: include parentheses and no exponents
• Level 4: exponents and parentheses

Let your 5th-grade students practice while having fun with this engaging order of operations find the hidden message activity. This activity will be a great way to review your lesson. Students will practice order of operations while they look for the hidden message. As they correctly answer the questions the mystery message will be revealed. I used it as a sub-plan in sixth grade and the kids loved it, they were so engaged!
