I honestly can't tell you how many students have barged into my office super anxious and full of regret over decisions surrounding their cell phones. In this product, the differences and similarities between writing a realistic fiction story and a nonfiction story are shared so students can decide how they want to write their story about hearing loss or deafness. They can write a realistic fiction story if they want to write about events that did not happen, but could have, or they could write a nonfiction story about their own personal experiences. Students will then pick which genre they want to use to write their story about hearing loss or deafness. Students can follow the example provided that goes through the writing process which shows the following: picking a genre, coming up with two possible story ideas their story could be about, deciding on one of the story ideas, adding more details onto their story idea, writing a rough draft, editing, and writing a final draft if required.
