Now you have NO IDEA where to start! Have you taught computer science, but want to try something else? Are you teaching AP Computer Science A and need materials? Math and computer science are related, but are not the same!\n\nI have your back. I've been teaching math and computer science, including APCSP, APCSA, and Data Structures for almost two decades. I also teach an introduction course. This is part of the course I made up for my intro students. I have a BS in computer science and know what students need to know.\n\nThis bundle is a marking period worth of material.\n\nIt teaches students how to use Listeners, Timers, and create their own Sprites. This is an out of the box experience that students will love.\n\nThis bundle assumes students understand how to use variables, create classes, understand logic, and have been taught at least the basics of Programming in Java. It's great for teaching something fun after the AP Exam!\n\nAll lessons will come with the following:\n\n**a pdf slideshow** - Can be teacher or student driven!\n\n**an assignment** - differentiated with three different levels!\n\n**a pacing guide** with hints for teaching the section and common student\\\nerrors\n\n**an answer key in pdf form** - For a quick check\n\n**an answer key in .java form** - Runnable out of the box.\n\nYou can pick and choose the ones you like or have students do their best to reach the \"Hacker\" level. This will last about a mark period and can be extended easily!\n\nDepending on your style, you could go over the slides as a group, then let students play around. Or you could just give them the slides and assignment and let them go.\n\nLet students explore and make mistakes. Let them talk to each other and discuss their approaches. Programming takes a lot of trial and error and collaboration.\n\nGreat for asynchronous learning and homeschooling! Could be used as a self- taught course or go at your own pace! Everything for learning is included!\n\nWelcome to the world of programming! It's going to be a blast!\n\n**How to earn TpT credits for future purchases:**\n\n1. Log in to your account\n2. Navigate to your \"My Purchases\" page\n3. Locate the \"Provide Feedback\" button next to each purchase\n4. Click the button and rate the product, leaving a short comment\n5. Now you have NO IDEA where to start! Have you taught computer science, but want to try something else? Math and computer science are related, but are not the same!\n\nI have your back. I've been teaching math and computer science, including APCSP, APCSA, and Data Structures for almost two decades. I also teach an introduction course. This is part of the course I made up for my intro students. I have a BS in computer science and know what students need to know.\n\nThe second semester of lessons are an extension and not taught in most schools. Used in conjunction with learning how to do their own troubleshooting, this is a perfect introduction lesson for a technology class, or any class that is using 1:1 technology.\x3C/p>\x3Cp>As an introduction to the lesson, the teacher can show a short video about the computer’s interior parts (included in the resources), or let students examine the parts of an open computer in the classroom. Obtain an old computer that can be touched without concern for damage either from an old computer you may have or ask parents for a donation. In my classes, we use both the video and the hands-on activity since students love taking things apart!\x3C/p>\x3Cp>The second part of the introduction involves showing students where things plug into the computer. This is a great start to helping them become more independent computer users by learning how to troubleshoot basic problems with their computers to make sure the peripheral device is plugged in! Again, demonstrating on an actual computer in the classroom is best as the exact locations for plugging in varies by computer.\x3C/p>\x3Cp>Finally, have students demonstrate their understanding by completing the two worksheets included. Depending on time and your preference, they can complete labeling the parts inside the computer after the first portion of the introduction and then complete the second part of the worksheet that has them label where things are plugged in after you review that with them. Or, if you prefer, you can do both parts of the introduction and then let them complete both worksheets at the same time. Worksheets are editable and students can complete them on the computer or you can print them and let them complete them if you prefer.\x3C/p>\x3Cp>The project was created for grades 7-8 but could easily be adapted for upper elementary or high school students.\x3C/p>\x3Cp>Files Included with this Lesson\x3C/p>\x3Cp>• Teacher & Student Notes and Resources\x3C/p>\x3Cp>• Parts Inside the Computer: Student worksheet (includes answer key) EDITABLE PowerPoint\x3C/p>\x3Cp>• Where Do We Plug Things In: Student worksheet (includes answer key) EDITABLE PowerPoint\x3C/p>\x3Cp>Remember to \x3Cstrong>leave feedback\x3C/strong> for credits on future purchases!\x3C/p>\x3Cp>**************************************************************************\x3C/p>\x3Cp>Connect with us for free technology tips, resources and curriculum:\x3C/p>\x3Cp>\x3Cstrong>Follow our blog\x3C/strong>\x3C/p>\x3Cp>\x3Cstrong>Follow us on Facebook\x3C/strong>\x3C/p>\x3Cp>\x3Cstrong>Follow us on Pinterest\x3C/strong>\x3C/p>");$R[474]($R[668],"\x3Cp>Looking for a \x3Cstrong>no prep\x3C/strong> fully resourced 10 lessen worksheet activities with lesson plans and slides for \x3Cstrong>Python Coding\x3C/strong> challenges with \x3Cstrong>solutions for middle and high school grade students in digital technologies or computer science\x3C/strong>.\x3C/p>\x3Cp>\x3Cstrong>Resources this bundle includes:\x3C/strong>\x3C/p>\x3Cul>\x3Cli>10 editable individual slide decks (PPT)\x3C/li>\x3Cli>Detailed 10 lesson - lesson plans\x3C/li>\x3Cli>9 Individual lesson worksheets - Printable\x3C/li>\x3Cli>9 Individual lesson worksheets - Digital version\x3C/li>\x3Cli>Suggested marking key of student worksheets\x3C/li>\x3Cli>Consolidation activity and marking rubric\x3C/li>\x3C/ul>\x3Cp>Enjoy this resource! Programming in Java 2: The Scanner Class
Programming in Java 3: The Random and Math Classes
Programming in Java 4: The String and DecimalFormat Classes
Programming in Java 5: Drawing Shapes
Programming in Java 6: If Statements

exercises!
a pacing guide with hints for teaching the section and common student
errors

What's Inside the Computer?: Learning about the Parts of the Computer
By Innovations in Technology
Inside the Computer: Identifying Parts of the Computer project helps students understand what is inside the computer as well as where peripheral devices plug into the computer. Used in conjunction with learning how to do their own troubleshooting, this is a perfect introduction lesson for a technology class, or any class that is using 1:1 technology.
As an introduction to the lesson, the teacher can show a short video about the computer’s interior parts (included in the resources), or let students examine the parts of an open computer in the classroom. Obtain an old computer that can be touched without concern for damage either from an old computer you may have or ask parents for a donation. In my classes, we use both the video and the hands-on activity since students love taking things apart!
The second part of the introduction involves showing students where things plug into the computer. This is a great start to helping them become more independent computer users by learning how to troubleshoot basic problems with their computers to make sure the peripheral device is plugged in! Again, demonstrating on an actual computer in the classroom is best as the exact locations for plugging in varies by computer.
Finally, have students demonstrate their understanding by completing the two worksheets included. Worksheets are editable and students can complete them on the computer or you can print them and let them complete them if you prefer.
The project was created for grades 7-8 but could easily be adapted for upper elementary or high school students.
Files Included with this Lesson
• Teacher & Student Notes and Resources
• Parts Inside the Computer: Student worksheet (includes answer key) EDITABLE PowerPoint
• Where Do We Plug Things In: Student worksheet (includes answer key) EDITABLE PowerPoint

These lessons are meant to be done over a few days; the idea is to get students doing cool stuff as fast as possible. With Java, that is NOT an easy task.

Programming in Scratch 0 and 1: Introduction to Scratch and Motion Blocks
By Howlin' Husky Math Games
Hello and welcome!
Are you math teacher and have been thrown into teaching a computer science course? Now you have NO IDEA where to start! Have you taught computer science, but want to try something else? Math and computer science are related, but are not the same!
I have your back. I've been teaching math and computer science, including APCSP, APCSA, and Data Structures for almost two decades. Scratch is a really easy to learn language to learn which makes it perfect for beginners. Block based coding looks very simple at first, but it is just as intricate as a keyed language. The difference is that coders don't need to memorize complex syntax to use it. This makes it perfect for younger kids; but it's still complex enough for older students.
This is part 0 and 1 a semester long programming in Scratch course.
Topics:
Programming in Scratch 0: Introduction to Scratch
Programming in Scratch 1: Motion Blocks
All lessons will come with the following:
a pdf slideshow
