Students will learn the difference between singular nouns and singular possessive nouns. Students will review singular nouns and write the singular possessive nouns and will then review the singular possessive nouns and write the singular noun for each noun provided.

The words for each sentence are not in English word order and are scrambled. Students will use the words provided to make a sentence in proper English word order that includes singular possessive nouns. Once students unscramble the given sentences, they will have the opportunity to make up a sentence using the singular noun and singular possessive noun for each vocabulary word. Kaboom is a fun game to review the use of adjectives and adverbs, 90 cards in total. It can be played in small groups or with the whole class. Low prep, just print out and cut up. 2 worksheets as a bonus.

Troublesome sense verbs (look, smell, taste, feel, sound), which are followed by adjectives (unlike in many other languages), are included.

How to play:

• print out and cut up the cards
• put them in a receptacle of your choice
• decide on how long you want to spend on this activity and set a timer
• pupils take turns pulling out a card and reading the sentence
• if they say it right, they get to keep the card
• if they get it wrong, they put it back
• the next pupil takes a turn
• if they pull out a Kaboom! card, they put all their cards back
• pupil with the most cards at the end wins

Students will initially write each vocabulary word in their native language and after learning the English word, students will complete different the school vocabulary words review where they will be required to fill in the English and their native language word for different school vocabulary words. Pictures are included for each vocabulary word to help students make connections with each school vocabulary word. Students can do this independently or with help. Students will be required to answer a few comprehension questions that relate with what kinds of school supplies they use, what classes they take, wish they took, enjoy, etc.
