The Pumpkin Patch Field Trip Unit is part of my Field Trip Unit Series. The series was created with homeschoolers in mind, but can be adapted to be used in a classroom as well. Field trips are a great way to supplement learning, but often homeschoolers don’t get any background information on the location of their field trip and want to enrich their experience by expanding the learning at home before and after the trip. These units help give information and fun activities before and after the field trip.

These units are available in PreK/Kinder, Elementary, and Middle & High School levels. All Pumpkin Patch Field Trip Units follow the same outline and the parent/teacher info sheet is the same for all three so that if you have children of several ages, you can seamlessly teach them together. The graphic novel, Queen Bee written by Chynna Clugston is entertaining and suspenseful. This book encourages my on-level as well as struggling readers to want to read. Students will like this book at the upper elementary, middle school and high school level, because the main characters not only have the ability to show the reader their super powers, but students can also relate to the main characters as they navigate school and developing friendships as well. Upon reading each chapter, students can answer the comprehension questions with help or independently. When students are finished reading this book, they can answer the questions about their favorite character, the plot, setting, etc. as well.

This product includes quick notes for students who should focus on the important details of the skeletal and muscular system.

Vocabulary words that are emphasized in this packet include: skeletal system, muscular system, cellular organization, organism (living thing), organ system, organ, tissue, cells, involuntary muscles, voluntary muscles, smooth muscles, skeletal muscles, cardiac muscles, ligaments, tendons, and bones.

These notes can also be used as adapted notes for students who need more support. This packet includes notes, fill in the blank sections, and short answer questions based on what was reviewed in the notes.
