The Case of the Cursed Candy Math Mystery is a Halloween-themed math activity that will have your students solving puzzles, cracking codes, and practicing essential math skills—all while trying to stop a Halloween monster from turning the town's children into real monsters!
What’s the Mystery?
It’s Halloween in the spooky town of Mathigan, and something is terribly wrong with the candy being handed out. When the children eat it, they are transformed into real Halloween monsters! One of the town’s monsters has cursed the candy, and it's up to your students to solve the case. Using math skills, students will work through five clues to narrow down a list of ten suspects and discover who is behind the curse.

This Algebra 1/PreAlgebra Math Skills Halloween Escape Room is completely SELF CHECKING (and printable) and includes 40 questions to help Spencer's spirit get free from your school! Students will complete 4 multiple choice questions in each of the 10 rooms covering math skills that are covered in Pre Algebra, including order of operations, linear equations, exponents, GCF, LCM, square roots, decimals, percentages & fractions, the coordinate plan, irregular shapes and simple proportions! Halloween Mystery Puzzle- (No Prep)- The Case of the Missing Candy Cauldron

Looking for a fun and engaging way to celebrate Halloween with your students? The Halloween Mystery: The Case of the Missing Candy Cauldron is the perfect activity for the spooky season! This hands-on, interactive mystery is designed to keep students excited and thinking critically as they solve puzzles and uncover the culprit behind the stolen candy cauldron at the annual Monster Halloween Bash.
Background Story: Every year, the monsters—Frankenstein, Dracula, werewolves, ghosts, zombies, and witches—gather for the Annual Halloween Monster Bash, a highly anticipated event where they enjoy spooky fun, games, and candy. This year, however, something went terribly wrong. As the monsters were dancing and enjoying the festivities, the cauldron filled with candy mysteriously disappeared! The cauldron is the heart of the Monster Bash, and without it, the party can't go on. Someone had stolen the candy, and it was up to the students to find out which monster was responsible before Halloween was ruined!
Suspect List: Students will be introduced to six classic Halloween monsters who attended the party, and any one of them could be the candy thief. The suspects include:
Each monster has a unique personality, motive, and evidence that students will use to narrow down the suspects as they solve puzzles. Could it have been Frank E. Stein, who wanted to share the candy with his monster friends? Or maybe Baron Von Bat, who just wanted to show off by stealing the cauldron?
