When a high school student begins a \x3Cstrong>public speaking unit,\x3C/strong> it is quite often the first time he or she has been required to speak in public, other than the basic Show and Tell in elementary school.\x3C/p>\x3Cp>Therefore, it is important to make sure the students become familiar with the basics of how to stand, speak, move, and make eye contact during any type of public speaking situation. This lesson is designed to help the students with all aspects of understanding their audience, so they can prepare their presentation accordingly.\x3C/p>\x3Cp>The slide show, and worksheets allow students to practice and develop their public speaking skills. Public Speaking Curriculum, Speech Activities, Debate Unit - Know Your Audience
By Write On with Jamie
*****************************************************************************************
Introducing methods to help students know their audience when preparing for a speech has never been easier! This lesson guides students through a step-by-step process of understanding who their audience will be and how to prepare accordingly. When a high school student begins a public speaking unit, it is quite often the first time he or she has been required to speak in public, other than the basic Show and Tell in elementary school.
Therefore, it is important to make sure the students become familiar with the basics of how to stand, speak, move, and make eye contact during any type of public speaking situation. This lesson is designed to help the students with all aspects of understanding their audience, so they can prepare their presentation accordingly.
The slide show, and worksheets allow students to practice and develop their public speaking skills. The worksheets reinforce guided note-taking techniques when used in conjunction with the slide show. The detailed lesson plans make implementing public speaking, speech and debate curriculum easy for teachers.
These no-prep lessons are adaptable for in-class instruction, distance learning, or independent student work. The PowerPoints can also be presented as whole class instruction or assigned for students to complete at home.
All materials are available in both Google Drive™ and print formats, ensuring easy access for all students.

Geography | Analysing and Interpreting Population Pyramids worksheet
By Yugen Learning
Analyzing and Interpreting Population Pyramids
In this no prep lesson is an activity for students learn to analyse and interpret the various types and shapes of population pyramids in a single activity.
Resources Included:
Australian Geography Curriculum link:
Represent data in a range of appropriate forms, for example climate graphs, compound column graphs, population pyramids (ACHGS049)
Students will begin to see that certain features and shapes are often associated with particular population structures e.g. a wide base indicates a high birth rate, a narrow apex often indicates a high death rate, etc.
Within the lesson, students will be expected to apply this new knowledge and understanding by analyzing and interpreting a population pyramid from a range of countries.
Students also learn how variations in shape and size also relate to the dependency ratio (the amount of the population that is dependent on the working population) of a particular country. Students practice calculating and interpreting dependency ratio through a number of examples.
These slides can also be printed and displayed within the classroom or given to students as review notes.
