Cartoon Last Character Standing
Students will be given a list of Cartoon Characters to see how their characters are eliminated over a 10 day period during the Last Character Standing Games. They will be given a pair of dice that will be used to determine if the character moves on to the next day or if they are eliminated. On the back is a series of questions to ensure that students are learning about experimental probability. Very fun and there will be a lot of laughs.

This project combines 10 mathematical concepts into a hands-on project - building a 3-D strawberry box. The project involves the math of carpentry, dietetics, sales, and data analysis. The math topics involved include:
- The Theorem of Pythagoras
- Geometrical Problem Solving
- Elementary addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with lengths, money etc.
- Volume of prisms
- Ratio, Proportion, Percents, Fractions
- Internet research for appropriate formulas
- Mathematics by trial and error
- Mathematics should be practical whenever it is at all possible.
Included is a link to a Google Sheet where students can ...
- experience how to "code" how to buy the right amount of wood at the cheapest price.
- make some selections of different lengths of wood to get the best price.
