How/When To Use Scenario Task Cards

• Role-Playing: Students can collaborate in pairs or groups to act out a variety of scenarios and demonstrate appropriate responses. Role-playing activities can also be used to show how skills are used improperly and then asking the 'audience' to help reenact properly. This activity can ultimately improve confidence, communication, and assertiveness skills.
• Icebreaker: This can be a great way to start a meeting, training session, or team-building activity. It’s also a great way to get students to get to know each other and buy into the purpose of an upcoming activity or lesson.
• Play Writing Exercise: Students can work in groups to create skits or scenes then perform the skit for the class.
• Writing Response: Students can be given a task scenario to read and then write their responses. Students can switch papers with a partner who then reads their responses and determines whether they agree/disagree with their responses/approaches to these real-life scenarios.
• Discussion: Students can discuss the Social Scenario Task Cards in groups or whole class. They can discuss things like “What would you do?”, “Why would you do that?”, and “What are some other approaches you could consider?”

Differentiate your Life / Daily Living skills lessons with this Multi-Level Kitchen Tools Identification Bundle! This functional vocabulary kitchen tools activity is a fun and engaging way to teach identifying kitchen tools / utensils. Students need to know what tools are used in the kitchen when they are planning on cooking or working in a restaurant. Learning the tools found in the kitchen improve the life and work skills for all students.

Teaching students daily living/life skills is a critical part of a special education adaptive curriculum program. This unit helps students learn to identify 30 common kitchen tools and then apply that knowledge into how each tool is used in the kitchen.

There are 3 Levels.

✭Level 1 provides direct instruction in familiarizing students with tools used in a kitchen. There are 30 total self-grading Google Slides activity cards where the student matches the same kitchen tool out of a choice of 3 tools. This is a paper based, 4th of July themed resource. Products featured are 4th of July related. Examples of products featured: American flags, red/white/blue clothing, party popper, sparklers, patriotic floats, etc.

Students are given a prices on products and are asked to look at the money provided and determine if they have enough money. Students will also be asked look at the price of real products and identify the correct amount of money needed. Students will also calculate totals of multiple items

Students will read sales receipts, calculate the subtotal of a meal or service, calculate the tip and find the total. In some cases students will be asked to calculate a split bill.
