This product includes notes for students learning about world biomes

Vocabulary words that are emphasized in this product include: biome, climate, world biomes, tundra, permafrost, taiga, temperate forests, tropical rainforests, grasslands, desert, savanna, prairies, deforestation, and forage.

These notes can also be used as adapted notes for students who need more support. This packet includes notes on each of the 7 world biomes, maps showing where each of the biomes are located, animals that live on each biome, and facts/information about each biome, short answer comprehension questions are provided after information about each biome is presented. Towards the end of the product, students can complete the world biomes research report. Students can research an animal that lives on each biome and provide interesting facts that they learned as well. Students can then draw a picture of each biome in the a drawing section. Students can also fill in the blanks using a key to review vocabulary words.

As our Deaf/hard of hearing/ELL students are completing written assignments, little words/parts of speech that are commonly confused when writing with words such as there, their, and they're. If students begin at the pre-primer level and are able to identify a specific amount of each section of sight words, they are going to be ranked as independent, instructional, or frustration when identifying those sight words. Students are then provided with a sentence or brief comprehension passage for each Dolch sight word list. The questions and short passages have been adapted and shortened compared to other reading assessments so baseline data can be collected, especially with those students are struggling. This will help gauge where students need the most support in terms of identifying sight words, reading simple sentences/passages, and answering comprehension questions that relate with what is read.

Job / Work Skills are an important part of our Middle School / High School special education / Autism student’s learning. Valentine's Day Task Boxes-

1. Valentine's Day Beginning Letter Sound and Match- This special education letter sound and tracing activity is Valentines Themed. Students will love tracing their letters and finding the Valentine image that begins with that letter. Students are practicing two skills in one task card set.
