Objective: The objective of the game "Oops" is to get your teammates to guess a word without using certain pre-defined words or phrases associated with it - these are called "Oopsies"

Gameplay:

The clue giver selects a number from the selection board, revealing the word to be described as well as the "oopsies" associated with it.
The clue giver must then describe the word without using any of the "oopsies".
The guessers on the team try to guess the word based on the clues given. The guesser sits with their back turned to the slide, while the clue giver faces the slide.
The guesser can make as many guesses as they want within 1 minute.
If a teammate guesses the word correctly, the team earns a point. However, if the clue giver uses an "oopsie," they forfeit a point.
After the minute is up or the word is correctly guessed, play passes to the next team.
Play continues back and forth until all the slides have been used or a set number of rounds has been completed.
The team with the most number of points wins.

Solving Exponential Equations BTC Thin Slicing Lesson | Algebra 1

This lesson has everything you need to teach a "Thin Slicing" lesson on solving exponential equations using the Equality Property of Exponential Equations for Algebra 1 or Integrated Math 1. These progressively challenging task cards start students with simple conversion of numbers into powers with a base and an exponent, review the basic exponents properties, then guide students to solve exponential equations by creating powers with equivalent bases. This lesson with printable task cards uses Building Thinking Classrooms strategies for teaching math created by Peter Liljedahl. Programming in Java 11: JSwing- Introduction to JSwing

Hello and welcome!

Are you math teacher and have been thrown into teaching a computer science course? Now you have NO IDEA where to start! Have you taught computer science, but want to try something else? Math and computer science are related, but are not the same!

I have your back. I've been teaching math and computer science, including APCSP, APCSA, and Data Structures for almost two decades. I also teach an introduction course. This is part of the course I made up for my intro students. I have a BS in computer science and know what students need to know.

The second semester of lessons are an extension and not taught in most schools. I researched and created them with a focus on students having fun while using higher level coding techniques. They are geared toward using Java to create forms and games. These sections are by far my students' favorites because they get to use images, GUI components, and animation.

These lessons are meant to be done over a few days; the idea is to get students doing cool stuff as fast as possible. With Java, that is NOT an easy task.

Programming in Java 11: Introduction to JSwing
Using JFrames and JPanels

Adding and using a JButton

Styling components

FlowLayout

Includes starter student code for making a JFrame and JPanel

All lessons will come with the following:

Depending on your style, you could go over the slides as a group, then let students play around. Or you could just give them the slides and assignment and let them go.
