Guided Nutcracker Descriptive Essay ($5 Value)

This guided descriptive essay asks students to describe a nutcracker. There are three separate options to use based on the level and ability of your students.

Option 1: A full five-paragraph essay with three body paragraphs and an introduction and conclusion are required. This includes a planning page, a student requirement page, and a rubric.

Option 2: A fill-in-the-blank essay is used for young writers learning to spell and write. It includes a planning page, a student-required description, and a nutcracker to color according to the description.

This project aims to help your child/students practice their research skills. They will pick one of the "realms" or regions based on the realms represented in the Nutcracker Ballet (when visiting after Marie/Clara rescues the Nutcracker/Prince). Written Research Report (with introduction and conclusion). An optional presentation extension is available for students to create a project based on architecture, dress, or food research done on their report. You may hear about natural disasters often, but some of the deadliest disasters in world history have been environmental disasters caused by human activity. This lesson involves having your students investigate environmental disasters that have taken place on our planet. Their initial focus will be to examine the Chernobyl disaster in the Soviet Union. After closely exploring the historical background to this accident, students will then choose and research a different environment disaster, and create a Google Slide presentation to demonstrate their findings.

This is a great activity for a Christian School, homeschool or even for a Sunday School teacher. This storyboard is an activity that reinforces comprehension and introduces basic story elements. I use a file folder but large manila or construction paper can also be used. Students write about the setting, characters, beginning, middle and ending. Then they write a summary. There is artwork also included to illustrate the storyboard.

My students LOVE creating storyboards and they are a wonderful introduction to basic story elements and summarizing. I use colorful file folders or large manila/construction paper. There are illustrations to color and places to list the characters, setting and summary. There are also interactive flaps for writing the beginning, middle and ending. This project is about the birth of Baby Jesus and includes Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, the Wise Men, a shepherd and a sheep.
