This lesson, although written for geography, is not subject-specific and is adaptable to any subject or topic — history, ancient studies, book studies or any time you are studying a person, character, country, object, or event. Use this character analysis to explore people, reading characters, historical characters or people, events, countries, and objects. No, an object, country, or event does not have feelings, but what if they did? How would they feel? What would they see? What would they hear? What would they say? Encourage your student to think outside the box and stretch their minds and higher-level thinking skills.

This 22-slide PowerPoint presentation covers women's experiences in colonial America between 1607 and 1763. It is an ideal lesson for the colonial period or as a stand-alone resource for women’s history. It is also a good resource during Women’s History Month.

Each slide contains primary sources and images that highlight the varied experiences of women in colonial America including those who dissented or who challenged accepted behaviors. Each colonial region is addressed in relation to women's contributions and challenges that they faced. Some specific women are highlighted through primary source excerpts and images. Native American women's experiences during this period are explored in more detail in the Native American Women PowerPoint Presentation in the Women in American History Series.
There is also an Easel Activity and Easel Assessment which allows for digital submissions. Students have the chance to resubmit work**.** For Home Schoolers or for asynchronous learning, this is a valuable digital tool.

This product was made for students to learn about the 50 states, the spelling of each state, and each state's abbreviation. This product includes slides that are made up of the states that begin with the same letter on each slide, as these states can be confusing. For example: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, and Arkansas as well as their abbreviations so students can see the difference. Slides that show states that don't have any similarities, like Georgia, and states that have two words, like New York, are also addressed.
Each slide is provided with the state name and the abbreviation. Students can attempt to fill in the blanks of the abbreviations that were reviewed on each previous slide as well. This helps students to learn the spelling, abbreviations, and location of each state. This product can be used for students who benefit from having material adapted and it can also be used with students who are on grade level as well.

I designed this 5-page activity for my students to engage with during the Fall or at the start of the year, focusing on the Social Studies Citizenship unit. Students will read various scenarios and determine whether each one exemplifies good citizenship. This activity is perfect for reinforcing rules and character traits at the beginning of the year. I intend to use it as an independent task after a few days of instruction on citizenship. In this product, students will learn about the Oregon Trail Westward Expansion. Vocabulary covered: pioneers, frontier, forty-niners, California Gold Rush, pioneer life, and The Oregon Trail along with a fill in the blank vocabulary review. At the end of the vocabulary review, a key is provided with the answers to all vocabulary words that are presented to help students fill in the missing blanks.
Students will learn about the westward expansion. What the west was in 1830, the causes of diseases and death along the Oregon Trail - scurvy, yellow fever, dysentery, cholera, typhoid, and wagon mishaps. how Indigenous Peoples that pioneers met on their journey west were helpful, facts about the covered wagons that were used to travel out west, what was packed in the covered wagons and why, and who the forty-niners were and what they were searching for.
The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. Throughout the product, after each page of notes is reviewed, students will answer short answer comprehension questions. At the end of the product, students are provided with a review that includes multiple choice questions and short answer questions.
