Are you studying The Little Prince with your French learners? This French speaking activity will have your students engaged and reflecting in French about The Little Prince. These 30 French speaking prompt cards with insightful and thought provoking questions will trigger great discussions among your students about the wonderful book by Antoine de Saint Exupéry, Le Petit Prince.

You can also use the cards to teach them the vocabulary if you want. This activity is a fun way to encourage your students to speak more and engage in conversation. It is a perfect resource to use in immersion, core or homeschool curriculums.

You will have to read and study the book prior to using these questions.

You can use these cards after teaching specific vocabulary and grammar for le Petit Prince or as a fun interactive activity on a day when you want to just focus on speaking and reviewing vocabulary in a different way. There are many ways you can use this set of task cards:

• Print, laminate, create small groups to ask and answer questions.
• Project the pdf file in class to work in group or with your whole class and avoid printing.
• Use as a warm-up speaking activity with a conversation partner. As students enter the classroom have them choose 2-3 cards from a box.
• Students who finish their work earlier than others can choose a few of the cards and write out correct answers to false statements.
• Use as exit tickets. Give each student a card before the end of class and as they walk out of the room they tell the teacher their answer.
• Stations: Put students into groups and divide the cards amongst them. Have groups rotate to a new station as they finish the cards.
• Scoot: Put one card on each desk in the classroom. Give each student a response sheet and set a timer to give them just enough time to answer true or false and to correct the false statements. When the timer rings students move on to the next desk and the next question. All cards are numbered so it is simple to stay organized. Full instructions are included.

1. Print and distribute the expressions list and make sure everyone understands what they mean.

3. Print and cut out the cards. There is one set with two possible answers provided that you can use in the beginning.  The other set doesn’t provide a choice of answers, so it is more challenging. Verb Race is a fun and very exciting way to practice the passé composé with être or avoir conjugations. Your students are going to love this set of 75 French verbs to use in the fast moving verb race game. This set includes 75 common regular, irregular and reflexive verbs.

Classic verb race involves dividing the class into teams and one person from each team goes up to the board to conjugate faster than everyone else. I've included full instructions, tips and rules with this resource. Verb Race has always been a huge favorite in my classroom.

In classic Verb Race it is usually the teacher who moderates the game, but in the instructions I'll explain in great detail how you can play a student led game so that even your weakest students can participate and learn a ton.

Name That Tense is an activity for reviewing verb tenses with your advanced French students_._ These 200 practice cards provide a challenging AP or French 4 review. You can use this activity on a few different levels. The most challenging way is to use the cards written in English, have students name the French tense that needs to be used, then have them translate the sentences to French. You may choose to use the cards written in French, and simply have students identify and name the tenses they read. This resource is included in my Advanced French Curriculum.

These practice cards provide an excellent opportunity to review the answers together, and to explain why each tense was chosen for a particular sentence. The files are easy to share with your students for distance learning.

The first 50 cards use these tenses: le présent, l'imparfait, le futur simple, le passé composé, le conditionnel, le plus-que-parfait et le conditionnel passé.

French Futur Proche with the Imperfect - 50 Practice Cards - Distance Learning

This is a set of 50 practice cards for students who are learning how to use the futur proche in the past using the imperfect tense. The verbs which are in the infinitive form are all regular -ER, -IR, and -RE verbs. Students fill in the blanks with the verb aller in the imperfect tense. These cards will help students grasp the difference between I am going to do something VS I was going to do something.

The instructions on each card indicate that aller should be conjugated in the imperfect tense, then the sentence should be spoken, and students should then translate. All of the cards are numbered to match the answer key, which includes English translations of each sentence.

Have your advanced level students listen to a six minute story read by François, a native Parisian. They will then complete an exercise filling in 100 blanks with all kinds of different pronouns! This story uses advanced level grammar and vocabulary. Have your students follow the steps below for a complete learning experience including reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This resource is included in my Advanced French Curriculum Bundle.

STEP 1: Listen to the audio recording of the story without looking at the text. See how much you can understand before moving on to STEP 2.

STEP 2: Download and print your fill in the blanks exercise and be ready to write as you listen in STEP 3.

STEP 3: Listen to the audio recording again, and fill in the blanks with the pronouns you hear.

STEP 4: Check your work using the answer key provided.

STEP 5: Download the full text and read along (aloud) with François as you listen to the audio again. Repeat this step frequently to increase fluency.
