This Functional Job Skills - Filing Work Task Box Bundle includes filing by color and alphabetically. Functional job skills task boxes are an important part of a Special Education Classroom as they support students in learning skills that can be used as they move toward the world of work! The included teaching instructions walk you through the scaffolding process using the prompt cards to allow you to support students as they increase their independence and learn a new job skill.  Each task box set includes multiple levels for students to progress through.

The Filing Task Box Set includes:

• Full set of 5 cards per alphabet letter for each progressive letter (Total of 620 filing cards)

How/When To Use the Growth vs. Fixed Mindset Scenario Task Cards

• Mini Lesson / Guided Practice / Do Now: You can use 1-2 scenarios to teach/show students the difference between a Growth Mindset and a Fixed Mindset, or you can use them as a launch activity to prepare students for an upcoming lesson.
• Role-Playing: Students can collaborate in pairs or groups to act out a variety of scenarios and demonstrate the differences between a fixed mindset and growth mindset. Role-playing activities can be used to expose students to the variety of ways they can approach situations with a growth mindset. This activity can ultimately improve confidence, communication, and assertiveness skills.
• Icebreaker: This can be a great way to start a meeting, training session, or team-building activity. It’s also a great way to get students to get to know each other and buy into the purpose of an upcoming activity or lesson.
• Play Writing Exercise: Students can work in groups to create skits or scenes then perform the skit for the class.
• Writing Response: Students can be given a scenario to read and then write their responses. Students can switch papers with a partner who then reads their responses and determines whether they agree/disagree with their responses/approaches to these real-life scenarios.
• Discussion: Students can discuss the Fixed vs. Growth Mindset Task Cards in groups or whole class. They can discuss things like “What would you do?”, “Why would you do that?”, and “What are some other ways you can approach this situation with a growth mindset?”

Taking risks is fairly common in adolescence. Yet, risky behaviors can be associated with serious, long-term, and – in some cases – life threatening consequences. As educators, the best thing we can do is develop their understanding of the consequences associated with various risky behaviors and equip them with tools to say no and to protect themselves. Through ongoing meaningful practices and discussions, we can enhance their understanding of the consequences of risky behaviors and help them prevent themselves from engaging in them.

Making social inferences means understanding information that is inferred or not directly stated. It involves observing a situation, then using clues with background knowledge to figure out what has happened or what is happening. The ability to make social inferences is an essential social skill. The pictures are designed for middle and high school students with images of both younger and older people to help you better differentiate for your students.

Use these 30 pictures, in a variety of ways, to help students make social inferences and develop a social understanding of what they see. Students can use these pictures to develop an understanding of what people’s situations are, what their intentions are, how they are feeling, what they are thinking, and what is likely to happen next. The pictures are relevant and represent every day living.

This Functional Life Skills Filing Task Box Set set is an excellent way to get your students started with task boxes in their independent work stations this year! The bundle includes three stages of learning to file from identifying and matching colors, learning the basics of filing (placing cards behind a tabbed divider), and moving on to filing alphabetically by last name.
