By Kaylor Creations
Design and plan your purpose–filled homeschool with this build-your-own printable planner and journal.
*See Preview for a Preview of Everything*
Are you tired of planners that are too in-depth with meticulous unnecessary planning that steal the joy of the freedom of homeschooling?! Me too! I designed this planner to be enjoyable, stress-free, and inspiring! It will guide you through the planning and reflecting that is needed to create a purpose-filled homeschool.
(*Please Note* This does include Bible Study Plans and Prayer Journals so it is geared toward Christian Homeschools. If that does not match your beliefs, there are plenty of lesson plan styles and other features provided you may find useful)
Build Your Own Features Included: *Check Out Preview*
Covers: Choose from multiple options as the cover for your planner and journal.
Build Your Mission Statement
Our Values: Awaken your heart to the basics of why you homeschool. Use this journal page to guide you in defining the core values of your homeschool. They will be one of the building blocks to your mission statement.
Our Goals: Identify the long-term desires and goals you have for your children with this journal page. Consider goals for them in these areas: Spiritually/Walk with God, Socially/Emotionally, and Academically. You can choose to use only one page for all your children or do one for each child.
Our Mission: Begin to develop your mission statement for your homeschool by following the journal prompts on this page. There is space to write your final mission statement.
Mission Statement: Write and create a lovely display of your homeschool of your mission statement.
Yearly Planning
State Requirements: Research the requirements to homeschool in your state. Plan out what you need to do to ensure you are following the necessary steps to homeschool this year.
Academic Focus: Create a list of what you want to focus your teaching on this year. This is a lot like creating goals but flexible enough to come back to and change as your child’s needs change. I provided one with suggested subjects and one blank for you to fill in with your choice if you'd like. Print one of these for every child.
Curriculum and Resources: Brainstorm and plan what curriculum and other resources you will use this year for each child in each subject area. I provided one with suggested subjects and one blank for you if you’d like to write your own subjects.
Field Trip and Adventures: Inspire learning outside of the home by brainstorming and planning the field trips and adventures you'd like to take this year.
Live Learn Play: Encourage learning through everyday life and play with this list of ideas to keep your homeschool filled with joyful learning. There is also a blank journal page for you to write any more ideas you have to learn through your everyday life.
Create a Rhythm
(Like a schedule but more flexible)
Our Rhythm: Design the flow of your days with this flexible chart. This page can be printed for each individual day in case you’d like to plan something a little different each day or you need to consider things like co-op or music classes.
Daily Rhythm: Design the flow of every day with this flexible chart. This page is if you do not need to plan something different for each day. Choose this or the previous page. You do not need to use both. These are in replace of traditional timed ‘schedules’ just with more flexibility.
Weekly Lesson Plan Options & Journal
Weekly Plan: Be inspired as you use these pages to guide you in purposely planning the important things of the week and journaling your prayers, and reflections. Following these pages are the individual lesson plans in various styles for you to choose from.
Lesson Plans: Save time and stress with this simple one-page, undated, open-spaced planning page. I will be using this every week to plan the learning activities and lessons that we will be doing. It could also be used for a month or two weeks, whatever you and your children need! It is designed for you to make a list, in order or not, under each subject that can then be marked off as completed. I did not put it as Monday-Friday to allow for flexibility. But you could write that in the boxes if you’d like_._
Weekly Journal: Reflect on your week and jot down your memories and proud memories on this journal page. Attach to your choice of lesson plan style each week.
Pre- K Lesson Plans & Journal: Accommodate for your littlest learners with this pre-k lesson plan. Journal also provided.
Chart Style Lesson Plans & Journal: Organize your plans with this more traditional lesson plan chart. There is one filled in with suggested subjects and a blank one provided. Journal also provided.
Unit Study Plans & Journal: Brainstorm and plan any cross–curricular unit studies you would like to design with this simple lesson plan format. Journal also provided.
Morning Basket Lesson Plan & Journal
Map out all the components for any morning baskets you’d like to plan out with this lesson plan style. Choose a topic and then find literature and other activities to put in a basket and do as a family in the morning.
Other Great Features
Monthly Journal: Journal your proudest moments, things you’ve noticed about your child, and other reflections in this monthly journal.
Assessment and Grades: Record any assessments, formal or informal, and the grade, if given on this simple and organized chart. You can use one for each child and each subject or just write all of the subjects together.
Attendance: Log your attendance for any state requirements. Each semester is on two pages to be kept next to each other. You could use it for multiple children by drawing a check in a different colored pen for each child in the space provided.
-------------------------------------------------------
This is NOT a one-size-fits-all, print-and-go planner. This is designed for you to purposefully look through and choose the features you want to use and print those pages only.
Once you have, you can print your choices in these ways:
Print out and spiral bind them into a year-long planner and journal. Make sure you make enough copies of the lesson plans to cover your year.
Print out and put items in a three-ring binder, with or without sheet protectors. This allows you to take out what you need when you need it.
Print your year-long planning items and keep them in a folder. Then, only what you need for the current week and keep that on a clipboard or small three-ring binder.
HAPPY PLANNING AND TEACHING!!

Visual Social Story - Swimming | Autism & Special Education | AAC Sentences
By Exceptional Education CA
This Visual Social Story - Swimming can be used by parents and educators to students with Autism and other developmental disorders. Social stories are a tool used by parents and educators that can help kids, teens, and adults with Autism and other Developmental Disorders understand what will be coming up in their day, reduce anxiety, and learn rules and social cues.
When used in relation to a specific event (like swimming), it can be one way to reduce anxiety by helping to predict what will happen during this event and how to respond to it.
To use this social story, read through the story together each day leading up to the event. On the day of the event, use the included mini schedule to provide students with a visual reminder of the steps they will go through during the day, and to allow them to check these off as they are completed.
