Even if the movie is in English, there are lots of follow up activities you can do in French with your students. This is an exercise to accompany a report by a Figaro journalist, given in French (of course!). There is a link to the YouTube video, and a series of questions to be answered while watching & listening. There are ten multiple choice questions, and five more open-ended questions. You can use this as a language lab activity, or even as the listening part of an exam. ☞Just click here to follow my store! Advanced French Translation Challenge #12 - Video + PowerPoint
My series of Advanced French Translation Challenges is for intermediate through advanced level learners. Practically every grammar topic in my complete series which is available as a bundle. Note that I made these videos for my students, so I may make references to lessons that your students may not have learned.
The video is 12 minutes long, giving time for you or students to put the video on pause and to work on translations before going over them. I provide LOTS of grammar explanations. The video includes two substantial translations, English to French. You may choose to work on only one per session. I've included a PowerPoint version if you would rather not use the video and work through the translations with your students on your own.
Grammar highlighted in this resource:
The grammar topics are quite varied, because this is what happens in real French conversations. I frequently do translation work with my students, and they really appreciate the variety of material that is covered.
Every sentence includes the grammar that your advanced students have been working so hard to master. When translating, it's interesting to compare sentence structure. This is an opportunity to observe sentences that students would really say, and to figure out how to do that in French.
➯ This resource is included in my Advanced French Curriculum Bundle.

Advanced French Translation Challenge #15 - Video + PowerPoint
