Directions & Ideas for use...

Black & White Copies:

Print Gameboards B&W, 2 crayons, & provide spinner. Partners take turns. Decide who goes first. You are not moving markers around the gameboard, just follow the path and take your turn answering questions. On your turn, spin spinner, if for example you spin 2, answer the first 2 spaces, if answered correctly color in your 2 spaces with your color. (second chances may be determined before the game starts) If answered incorrectly partner may attempt to answer correctly and if they do they will color the space their color. If both players are incorrect, leave space uncolored or continue to take turns until answered correctly (get out the manipulatives to prove your answer). Then the turn goes to the next player, continue in this manner around the gameboard. When you reach to end, each player counts the number of spaces they captured or colored and the one with the most is the winner!

Colored Laminated Copies:

Follow the directions above, but instead of coloring in the spaces with crayons, use colored cubes for each player to leave on their spaces along the path. When finished they can count their cubes to see whose color has the most.

Adaptions:

•Use 2 colored bingo daubers for B&W copies.

•Choose a different spinner for your game.

•Use a die or number cube and play the game with a playing piece that you move around the board, if you answer incorrectly you have to stay back on the space you were on, first one to the finish wins. Its just that some of the game boards have fewer spaces so using a six sided die the game might be finished too quickly therefore you may want to use the spinner for smaller numbers.

Butterfly cut and paste coloring pages are a type of activity that involves cutting out butterfly shapes from one sheet of paper and then pasting them onto another sheet to create a colorful collage.

Typically, the butterfly cutouts are pre-drawn on a template sheet that the child or artist can use as a guide for cutting. Once the butterflies have been cut out, they can be arranged on a separate sheet of paper in any way desired.

Coloring is also a key element in butterfly cut and paste coloring pages. Before cutting and pasting, the butterflies can be colored using crayons, colored pencils, or markers to create a unique and personalized look.

This activity can be a fun and creative way to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and artistic expression in children and adults alike. It can also be a great way to learn about the colors and patterns of different types of butterflies.

Addition Facts Game! Addition Facts Race to Win Game; Easter Set includes many versions of the "Race to Win" or also called "Race to 3" game. This is a partner game (I usually put it in one of my math stations, and change it out with different holiday versions). Taking turns the students roll 2 die, add the sum, color in a box on their game sheet. Students can also DAB IT with a bingo dauber if you choose. The first one to capture 3 pictures wins! All games are the same Game, just with different pictures to capture. This allows you to change out the games often throughout the month and keep things fresh. Or, just go with the mixed game for the entire time.

IDEAS FOR USE:

•This is a FAVORITE of my class no matter what time of year (they love a good competition) and a quick and easy practice so they don’t forget their addition facts. Early in the year I often use dice with dots on them, so those that need to still count the dots can do so. Later in the year I switch out the dice for number cubes. Or you can use one of each.

•Run a set in BLACK & WHITE and place in a math center/station bucket. Place some dice in the basket for quick access. Students each need a different colored crayon.

•DAB IT – This can easily be played with a Bingo Dauber, each student chooses their own color.

•COLORED LAMINATED COPIES – I tried to make these colorful but yet not to use too much ink. The colorful games are so enticing and you don’t have to continue to make copies. Place a set of laminated game boards in a math center/station. Or, run on cardstock for thickness and slide into a plastic sleeve. Add some dice. Students can use dry erase markers to X their boxes, circling the picture when they capture it. OR They can use 2 different colors of unifix cubes to fill in their spaces.

Don’t Eat Pete is a fun game for kids of all ages! Use any Easter candy (or any other favorite snack) to put on each of the 8 spaces on the game board. One child is then sent out of the room while the others decide which space/cupid is “Pete” and then the child returns to class to pick one snack at a time until they get to “Pete” and the kids yell out “Don’t Eat Pete!”. Play until each student gets a chance to play. There is 1 game board, 1 directions/cover, and 1 graphing worksheet.
