Sight Word Story Comprehension Dolch Pre-Primer High Frequency Words features both sight word and comprehension activities that go along with the words from the Dolch Pre-Primer word list. The words are grouped in sets of five and there are five pages of activities for each set of words. Activities include reading, locating and counting sight words in the text, answering questions about the text, illustrating the story, filling in missing words from sentences that are from the text, creating a sentence for each sight word, creating a story using the five words, and defining each word. This item will help students to accomplish meeting their sight word recognition goals as well as to improve reading results.

Existen dos recursos diferentes:

1. Busca y escribe las palabras de la semana

En este recurso, los estudiantes tendrán que rellenar los cuadros de texto del margen derecho con las palabras de uso frecuente de esa semana vayan encontrando en la sopa de letras. A modo de repaso también tendrán que encontrar y escribir las palabras de la semana anterior que también se encuentran en las sopas de letras.

Escribe además una frase utilizando una o más de las palabras encontradas.

2. Busca y traza las palabras de la semana (este recurso)

En este otro recurso, los mismos cuadros de texto ya vienen rellenos con las palabras de la semana pero escritas con línea de puntos. El objeto es escribir sobre ellas según se vayan encontrando en la sopa de letras. Pídales que hagan un círculo alrededor de la palabra encontrada en la sopa de letras para dejar constancia de que sí fue encontrada.

Escribe además una frase utilizando una o más de las palabras encontradas.

Each word has its front page, and there are two different options for the back of the page. One option is to practice writing the week's words by tracing and copying the word (pages 11 to 14), while the second option is to try to formulate sentences and be creative with the word of the day, as half of the sheet is left blank to let the student creatively draw the word or illustrate the sentences they wrote above (pages 7 to 10).

Al adquirir este recurso, obtendrán 1 archivos PDF de 16 páginas para trabajar las 8 palabras del primer módulo. Cada palabra tiene su propia página, y tienes dos opciones de distintas para el reverso de la página. Una de las opciones es la de practicar cómo se escribe las palabras de la semana tanto siguiendo el trazo como copiando la palabra, mientras que la segunda opción es la de intentar formular oraciones y ser creativo con la palabra del día.

En esta actividad se trabajan 8 de las palabras de uso frecuente del módulo 1 del programa de HMH de Kinder. Los módulos del 2 al 9 constan de 4 semanas y cada semana tiene 3 palabras, para un total de 12 palabras de uso frecuente por módulo. El programa consta de 9 módulos distribuidos en 36 semanas.
