Using cootie catchers (fortune tellers) to get students speaking to each other and to help them get to know their classmates better is a great idea at any time of the year. My students are confusing them for each other continuously. The words there, their, and they're are emphasized in this product. Students will determine if there, their, and they're belong in each sentence, circle the correct use of the word there, their, and they're in sentences, write sentences using there, their, and they're when looking at different picture scenarios, and will write there, their, or they're to complete each sentence. Students are provided space to make up their own sentences using there, their, and they're as well.

Looking for an engaging way to get your ESL students to build their communication skills and vocabulary? Taboo is a fun speaking and listening game where one student has to guess a word based on clues given by other students. The catch is that they cannot mention anything that is included in a list of taboo words.

You can easily modify this game to play it with all levels!  You are going to love hearing your students speaking in English to each other about all kinds of vocabulary words in this classic version that has no particular theme.

Object of the game:

One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the underlined word at the top of the card.

Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Beginner students should be allowed to use the TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.
