Include this 5th Grade Back to School Math Escape Room Game in your First Week of School Plans!

Your 5th graders will love this back to school math escape room! It's the first week of school, and your students are stuck in the school bus and can't get to school. Students must solve math review problems from their last year's curriculum to escape!

HOW TO PLAY:

• Students work collaboratively in groups to finish a paper puzzle "lock".
• Students will be asked to decode secret messages and solve math problems. Using their answers, they will find hidden puzzle pieces and additional clues in envelopes around the room.
• Set a timer for 45-60 minutes so students can race the clock.

LOW PREP:

• Escape rooms can be a LOT of work for teachers. This is why I've made this escape room as simple as possible for teachers to put together. All you'll need is:
• 13 regular envelopes
• 1 large envelope or manila folder
• Paper
• Printer
• Paper cutter (or scissors)
• About 30 minutes to make copies and assemble envelopes.
