Spring Sequence Printable Yoga Cards + Lesson Plans
By Lara Hocheiser
As the winter days wind down and the spring weather approaches, many come out of hibernation. The spring season is often a time for children to play outside, participate in outdoor sports, and just enjoy the feeling of being outside in the fresh air. However, during this warm and bright season, it can also be a time of anxiety for children. Children in the upper elementary and middle school grades typically take standardized testing, which is mandated by the state. The months of April and May can actually be quite daunting for some students, which is why this spring yoga sequence is such a great addition to children’s routine. In teaching students yoga poses and breathing techniques, not only can they learn something new but they can also learn techniques that can help ease their stress and anxiety, especially when it may come to test taking.
In our Educator’s edition, we provide 3 easy-to-follow curriculums for teachers, parents, and anyone else that works with children. Each curriculum is for a specific age group: young kids, kids and tweens.
The Spring Sequence + Curriculum is a 27 page PDF download which you can view on your phone, tablet, computer or print out onto paper. We recommend cutting out each card and taping/gluing on a 4x6 index card or card stock. For added durability, laminate each card.

Kids Autumn Sequence Yoga Cards and Lesson Plans
By Lara Hocheiser
For many, the passage into Autumn means a shift from Summer to the academic year. That passage is marked by changes of season. Long days and short nights turn to shorter days and longer nights. Summer days may have been filled with recreation, camp, family, and travel. Now schools days are filled with academics, homework, extracurricular activities, and busy schedules.
With all the changes, some students and families experience anxiety, stress, and difficulty balancing all they need to do.
Our Autumn Yoga Sequence can help yoga practitioners of all ages to feel a deeper sense of balance within.
With yoga and mindfulness, kids can become more calm, focused in school, and empowered to start every day with confidence and compassion.

For many children, the first thought that comes to mind when winter approaches is “snow day!” The winter can be a time of hibernation as it is cold outside, many extracurricular activities have slowed down, and the days get darker much earlier. When children are cooped up inside, they can become restless and bored quite easily. The story, When Spring Comes by Kevin Hikes, illustrated by Laura Dronzek, is my daughter’s favorite book year round. It's the perfect story to explore the transition from Winter to Spring. When reading this story to children, they become overjoyed to see the nature and animals related to the springtime. They love to pretend and act out the meaning of the story.
